3. Update for MCU or cluster program

3.1 Preparation
1) Required tools
- MCU or cluster update file such as mcu.mot for example
- FDT15.exe as update software :
down load the program at CERES / AS REPORT / BULLETIN / SB-O-2007-001
- Manual, FDT_manual1.pdf, for FDT15.exe
- Notebook PC with enough memory and
- a serial port for communication cable connection
- Windows 98, 2000 or XP
- Communication cable : 21N6-32200
- Extension cable
2) Installation of update software
- Download FDT15.exe into the notebook PC.
- Install the update program by clicking the FDT15.exe file.
*Please refer to the FDT_manual1.pdf file for more detail.
Note : FDT 1.5 is a purchased CD.
Please, contact Hyundai parts center.

3.2 Update of cluster program

1) Click FIT.exe file in Flash Development Toolkit 1.5 folder.
- Follow the instructions in the FDT_manual1.pdf.
- Add the MCU update file through "Add Files to Project" menu.
- Carry out the "Bulid Device Image" under Project menu.
2) Notebook PC connection with cluster

3) Connect the DUMP and DUMP-S connectors in the

communication cable.
4) Turn machine start key ON.
5) Carry out " Download Device Image" under the
Project menu.
6) Disconnect the DUMP-S and DUMP connectors
when the download is done.

7) Disconnect the cables and the notebook from

8) Turn start key OFF.

3.3 Update of MCU program

3) Connect the DUMP and DUMP-S connectors in the WTHEL58-1
communication cable.
4) Turn machine start key ON.
5) Carry out "Download Device Image" under the HL757-7A, TM-7A, HL760-7A, HL770-7A, HL780-7A

Project menu.
6) Disconnect the DUMP-S and DUMP connectors
when the download is done.
7) Disconnect the cables and the notebook from
machine.
8) Turn start key OFF.
9) Turn start key ON and stay for more than 1 minute. CN-126
10) Turn start key OFF.
