Definition of Terms

Coliform: a term used to classify bacteria such as E.coli which is used as a contamination determinant in
this study.

Cross-contamination: a term used to define the transfer of harmful bacteria to food or any product from
other food

Dry season sampling: a variable which could possibly affect the degree of contamination in a sample
which would be collected during June, July and August 2019.

Endogenous bacterium: a term used to define bacterium that has potential growth outside its natural
habitat.

Most Probable Number (MPN): a term used to define the method in estimating the coliform numbers in
a sample

Wet Season sampling: a variable which could possible affect the degree of contamination in a sample
which would be collected during October, November and December 2019.
