This version is the extensively validated model as reported in NCAC 2012-W-005
under Vehicle Modeling on http://www.ncac.gwu.edu/research/reports.html
The model consists of four files:
1. Combine file (Combine.key)
This file is used to combine the vehicle model with a barrier or another vehicle. It reads in the other files (2 and 3 below) via the *INCLUDE option. This file also includes all control cards and time intervals for the output files. Contact (for the vehicle components and between the vehicle and barrier or the other vehicle) is also be included in this file. The *CONTACT_INTERIOR is also included in this file since only one can be defined and may be needed for the vehicle and barrier or two vehicles. The included Combine.key file is setup for full-front impact and can be easily changed to simulate other impacts.
2. Vehicle model file (YarisD_V2g.key)
This file includes the complete vehicle model (parts, materials, sections, connections, nodes, elements, etc.). The interiors (steering system, seats, dashboard)are not included in this version.
3. Simulation setup file (YarisD_Set1_V2g.key)
This file is used to define the simulation parameters. It includes: - Added masses (for dummies and cargo/luggage), - Vehicle initial speed (setup with rotating front and rear wheels) - Parts set for *CONTACT_INTERIOR (foam and rubber solids), - Part set for vehicle contact (most vehicle components) - Node set for contact with ground (Tires), and - Instrumentations for measuring accelerations.
4. NCAP rigidwall file (NCAP_Wall.key)
