It is amazing to see all the changes in mobile phones over

As you can probably hear, there are some students looking

Today they are having their science lesson at the museum.
And they’re really enjoying the exhibition.

PAUL: Well, the bottle came from Canada and it had

a boy or girl in another country. Their names
and addresses were in the bottle.
LOUISE: So, did the Irish boy write a letter to the girls?

LOUISE: What? The bottle was in the sea for years?
PAUL: No. The Irish boy found the bottle on some
rocks. They think that the sea threw the bottle
onto high rocks and it stayed there all this time.
LOUISE: Wow! Do the women in Canada know the boy

TEACHER: OK, everybody, quiet please! Thank you. As you
twelfth of February. Now, that’s next Tuesday, so you’ll need
to pay your money for the trip by Friday this week.
We’re travelling by train. The train leaves at half past eight,
so we’re meeting at the station at eight fifteen a.m. Don’t
be late, please.
We’re staying at the port all day. Please wear warm clothes
– it will be very cold. And don’t bring any items like mobile
phones or iPods. In the morning we’re taking a boat trip
around the port. Then we’re having lunch in the visitors’
centre at the port. In the afternoon we’re visiting an old ship.
The ship is almost one hundred and fifty years old and has
a very interesting history.
Right, the cost for the day is £21.50. That includes lunch and

DAD: I went on a Mississippi river boat when I was

AMY: Really? Wow! I’d like to visit Lake Victoria. It’s
twenty-two kilometres long! Look – it’s amazing!
DAD: Yes, that’s a fantastic photo. It looks very
green.
AMY: That’s because there’s a rainy season from
March to May. We’ve studied it in class.
You know it can be cold there, too.
DAD: Really?
AMY: Yes. In June the temperature can be 15°C
in the day and 2°C at night.
DAD: It sounds like you know a lot about Lake
Victoria!
AMY: Yes, I do. Can we go there on holiday, Dad?

JACOB: I’ve just been on the theatre website. It looks
really cool. When are we going?
TEACHER: I think it’s the twenty-sixth of June. Let me
look at my emails. Actually, it’s the
twenty-seventh. The theatre’s just sent me
the times of the visit.
JACOB: Are we going to walk there?
TEACHER: It’s a bit far to walk, Jacob. We’ll go by coach.
JACOB: Where do we catch the coach?
TEACHER: Don’t worry, Jacob, we’ll all meet at the
school. I’ve just written a letter to all the
parents. It has all the information in it – and
also the cost of the trip.
JACOB: How much is it?
TEACHER: £5.70. I’ll collect the money the day before
the trip.
JACOB: Can we take photos at the theatre?
TEACHER: Sorry, Jacob, but you can’t take cameras
or phones on the trip – school rules!
JACOB: Really? That’s so unfair!

JOSHUA: Oh, OK, thanks. Which day are you going?
We’re going to go on the Sunday because
I’m staying at my cousins’ on Friday and
Saturday night.
ZOE: We’re going on that day, too! I’ll text you
so we can meet up.
JOSHUA: OK, cool. Do you know if I can bring my dog?
ZOE: Yes, dogs are allowed – we took ours last year.
JOSHUA: Great! So is it really a good festival?
ZOE: Yeah, the kites are amazing. Some kites are
made in the shape of animals or people and
they are flown by people from all over the
world. Last year there were kites from
Thailand, Kuwait and New Zealand!
JOSHUA: Can you bring your own kite to fly?
ZOE: Yes, and you can buy kites there. You can also
learn to make your own kite. I made one last
year. But it’s stuck in a tree in my garden now!
JOSHUA: Really? Bad luck! Well, I’ll text you at the
festival, then.
ZOE: Great, see you there.
