Depression
Depression is a common, debilitating, and potentially lethal disorder; over 300 million
people in the world are estimated to live with depression. Depression can affect us at any time.
Depression can be even a greater risk depending on where you are in life. Untreated depression
is a leading cause of teen suicide. Teens with depression are 12 times more likely to attempt
suicide than teens not experiencing depression. Teens experiencing depression can be
intermittently moody or rebellious but may show signs of sadness and persistent anxiety. The
problem is that teens with untreated depression are the most vulnerable to commit suicide and
put themselves in the most dangerous situations. Why is it a problem? Adolescents with
untreated depression can be the leading point for teens to commit suicide. It is important for this
problem to be addressed because it can cause sadness and desperation. Depression not only
affects the teens experiencing but also their family and the people around them. It can cause
more than just sadness and loneliness. Depression in teens could cause them to not be interested
One specific issue that’s caused by depression is the death or loss of loved ones. It is a issue
because through sadness or grief after the loss of a loved one, naturally the risk of depression
may increase. Some solutions to resolve this problem are to get social support. It’s better when
you have connections and don’t feel alone. In case that you’re feeling alone or stuck, do not

hesitate to talk to someone that you trust such as a family member or a friend. Another solution
that I can identify on my own is exercise. I think exercise is something that will maintain your
mind in other places in a way that you will not be able to think about anything that can make you
suicidal individuals show warning signs to a family member or friend. Feeling socially connected
to others is one of the protective factor that is directly associated with positive emotional health.
Some effective prevention and intervention solutions are programs that should teach students
safe and positive ways to cope with everyday stressors, such as how to recognize depression and
Others specific issue that’s caused by untreated depression is Genetic factors. Having some
relatives with depression increased the risk for depression. If you don’t know about it eventually
will be a untreated depression. Psychotherapy will be a good option for a solution since is
something that’s relationated with family and relatives. Psychotherapy or talking therapies that
solutions and contributing stresses, to educating family members. To identify any kind of
depression behavior the adolescent must have other clinical characteristics, including significant
changes in patterns of appetite, weight, sleep, activity concentration, energy level, self-esteem,
and motivation. Solutions and treatments may combine short-term psychotherapy, medication,
energy. Teen suicidal warning signs encompass three specific categories:Behavioral warnings
signs, Verbal warnings signs and Stressful life events. A good relationship with pears are central
to teens self-esteem and provide an important social outlet. This shows how important
relationships are for adolescents how they are feeling is how they performance in school, how
they behave. Some solutions are Talk to trusted adults for help and join organization that offers
programs for young people. Participate on school activities, sports and hobbies since staying
busy helps teens focus on positive activities rather than negative feelings or behaviors.
because it affects how the teens in this case and how people with it in general behave in their
everyday lives. It gets to a point where it leads towards suicide. Some solutions do not work for
everyone. Sometimes it depends how that person is behaving and working his best for the best
results. In a summary I think some of my solutions are pretty easy to do and accomplish. In some
case I think all solutions could work. Most of the time in the depends in the person state of mind
and case in general. Some people could find the programs a bit harder than others as well some
teens could find the therapies harder since is all talk, understandings and comfort.
