yesterday, so let’s proceed to our next lesson for
today.

We can see animals, plants and farmers in the


farm.

I have prepared a song about a farmer, Let’s sing the
song entitled “The Farmer in the Dell”. Let us sing all
together.

1. Presentation of the lesson
This morning we are going to read the story about a
farmer and his hat.
What do you want to know about the story? I want to know the characters in the story.

characters in the story.

So who do you think are the characters in the


story? Are there animals or person? Let’s find out
later.

Before reading the story, here are some unfamiliar
words that we may encounter while reading the story.
So let us be familiar with these words. Direction:

Now class, we are going to read the story but
before that say Hello to the Farmer. Kindly read the
question and let us answer after reading the story.

C. DURING READING (BIG BOOK) Who took the Farmer’s Hat?


Okay, so let’s read the story entitled “Who took the The farmer had a hat. But the wind took it and

brown hat?” said the farmer. “No”, said the fly. “I
saw a flat round hill. The hill was in a tree. And
then that tree took off, away it went”.
The farmer saw goat. “Goat, did you see my
old brown hat?” said farmer. “No, I saw a funny
round brown flowerpot. I was going to eat it. But
the wind took the flower pot away”.
The farmer saw duck. “Duck, did you see my
old brown hat? “said the farmer. “No”, said duck.
“I saw a silly round brown hat, but the bird took
that.”
The farmer saw bird. “Bird”, did you see my old
brown hat? Said the farmer. “No”, said the bird. “
I saw a nice round brown nest. The farmer looked
a nest in the tree. Bird was in it and an egg was in
it. “like it” said the bird. “I like it”, said the farmer.
“It looks like my hat but I see it is a nice brown
nest”. The farmer has a new brown hat. Oh! How
he likes his new brown hat. And how the bird likes
the old brown hat.
D. POST-READING
(Playing an audio of a bird chirping). What sound is
that? What animal produces that sound? Here it is!
We have here a bird with its colorful eggs. Each egg
has a number. Inside it is a question and a surprise gift
for you if you can answer the question correctly. Are
you excited? The farmer’s hat was blown by the wind.
But before that let’s get back to the farmer’s
question.

Now we’re going to answer the questions. Who wants

1. I will divide you into 3 groups. Group 1 will be
the Blue team, Group 2 will be the yellow team and
Group 3 will be the pink team. Each group will choose
your leader to lead the group, secretary, reporter to
report your output, observer to observe the other
groups and the goffer to get the things that you will be
using in your activity. . So we have here prisms. You
will raise “Help” if you have questions or if you need
my assistance, and “finish” if you are already done.

One day, Ruben went alone for a walk at the BSP


Camp in Masoc. While walking, he saw a guava tree
full of ripe fruits. “Ho-ho”, he shouted aloud. “Ho- ho”,
answer a voice from afar. He shouted again. He heard
the same word as what he said. Ruben was afraid then
he ran as fast as he could.
