By giving thanks to the presence of Allah SWT, for all His blessings, blessings
and guidance that have been bestowed upon us all. So that I can complete this
ENGLISH Study course in the form of a "CRITICAL JOURNAL REVIEW" and
its contents are very simple in time

In this paper I will discuss the journal about GROUP SETTLEMENT SERVICES
IN IMPROVING DEPOK SLEMAN 1ST VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF SELF-
STUDENTS, this paper is structured for the smooth process of learning of the
subjects concerned

I realized that in this task I made was far from perfect, I therefore expected
criticism and suggestions from all constructive parties for the perfection of this
task. Finally, I express my gratitude to all parties involved in making this
assignment. May Allah SWT always bless all our efforts. Aamiin.

9 Research Abstract This study aims to find out how the implementation
of group counseling in increasing self-confidence.
The source of this research was counseling guidance
teachers at Depok N 1 Vocational School and
marketing students. Sampling is done purposively.
Data collection is done using the method of
observation, interviews and documentation. Data
analysis was performed using qualitative descriptive
analysis which included data reduction, data
presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of
this study are the stages of formation, transition,
implementation phase and pengakiran stage by
using one technique, namely general technique

-Research purposes Aim to find out how group counseling is done in

increasing self-confidence

- Research subject Counseling Guidance teachers at Depok N 1

Vocational School and marketing students

10 preliminary Education is very important in everyday life, now

the Indonesian nation is trying to improve the
quality of education in the face of the times. The
world of education is expected to be able to realize
 the ideals of the nation and national education goals.
This can be obtained if a person has confidence
first, so that it can improve its development both by
itself and the environment that will help achieve it.
Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects
of personality in human life. People who are
confident will believe in their own abilities and have
realistic rewards, even when their expectations do
not materialize, they will still think positively and
be able to accept it

- Background The service implementation commonly used in

and theory school institutions to overcome this lack of
confidence is group counseling, because besides
being efficient it is also indirectly the students will
learn to socialize in a scope that might be said to be
small. Counseling itself is the process of providing
assistance to clients (students) in terms of problem
solving

11 Research methods Methods of observation, interviews and

documentation

- Research Steps Conducted using qualitative descriptive analysis

12 Journal Analysis Based on the description of the results of the

research on the implementation of group counseling
in enhancing the confidence of students of SMK N
1 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta, it can be concluded:
The implementation of group counseling in N 1
SMK Depok Sleman Yogyakarta consists of 4
stages: Formation stage, Transitional stage,
Implementation phase, Stage termination. The
formation stage consists of selecting members,
making group goals, determining the timing of
group counseling, preparing the material and
making introductions. This transition phase BK
teacher explained again about the implementation of
group counseling. The group counseling stage is to
discuss the problem of each member in group
counseling. And the last closing stage is to draw
conclusions and close the implementation of group
 counseling. The technique used in implementing
group counseling is general technique.
-Excess Journal The sample used has met the criteria and has met
the criteria and has met the target. The contents of
the journal are also good because they describe how
group counseling services help increase students'
confidence.
-Journal weaknesses Screening is done only once, a repeat examination
should be carried out to avoid examination bias.
This journal is also not accompanied by clear
research steps so that it is somewhat confusing to
readers.

13 Conclusion The conclusion that we can take from the journal is

that in fact the counseling services of the group can
help students improve their self-confidence but
there are still many BK teachers in the field who do
not use the technique.
14 Suggestion My suggestion is that the contents of the journal
really be applied in the process of Guidance and
counseling in the field because the purpose of the
contents of the journal is good, unfortunately if not
to be implemented in reality.
