I learned that I should have practice on studying the importance of child and adolescent

development because there are many factors that contribute to the child’s behavior. When a child

misbehaves or fails to meet expectations at school, the child’s home and family life should be

considered. Several family factors can affect a child’s behavior and ability to perform in the

classroom. These include economic stability, changes in family relationships, parental attitudes

toward education and incidents of child abuse. Children from lower-income homes often experience

a lack of parental consistency, a frequent change in part-time caregivers, a lack of supervision, poor

nutrition and poor role-modeling whereas, children who have parents who encourage academic

success are more likely to develop their own aspirations for higher education.

I realized that I should have to practice on understanding child’s behavior because some of

the children seeks attention to their parents especially to those who are busy doing their work. Some

of the children behave at school differently because some of them are being neglected, rejected,

suffer from emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse or even substance abuse in the home.

Victims of child abuse are known to be at high risk for engaging in risky behaviors and acting out

in school. They might have problems socializing with other children and adults and completing or

focusing on assignments.

I will practice to help those children who lacks support from their parents by engaging

myself to community activities such as out-reach program, community services, feeding program,

and other activities which helps every child not to engage in risky behaviors and acting out in

school. Community services is not limited to children going to school but also to the out of school

youth who needs enough support to cater their concerns. It also helps children to learn kindness,

respect, and empathy internal strengths that connect them to others. But these ideas also need to be

reinforced at home. These are the kinds of human qualities that foster responsible citizens, children

who grow up to donate to food drives, recycle their trash, or help during a crisis. It also provides

opportunities to work with other kids performing community service projects. It makes young

minds go global and inspires children to engage in doing good. When children learn to improve

their communities, they develop the capacity to organize others. They acquire problem-solving,

planning, time management, and marketing skills. Experiences that involve

teamwork, collaboration, and interaction are training grounds for future organized. citizens, people

who set goals, work within established systems, and motivate others to help.

INTRODUCTION

Portfolio is a purposeful collection of selective significant samples of student work

accompanied by clear criteria for performance which evidence student effort, progress or

achievement. It exhibits the student' s, progress, and achievement in several areas. Portfolios come

in many forms, from notebooks filled with documents, notes, and graphics to online digital archives

and student-created websites, and they may be used at the elementary, middle, and high school

levels.

As part of the requirements, I have made a portfolio consists of my personal data, reflection,

handouts and exam. Personal data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable

living individual. Different pieces of information, which collected together can lead to the

identification of a particular person, also constitute personal data. It consists of name and surname,

home address, email address, position held, age, birthdate, phone number, gender, sex, educational

background, employment history, trainings and seminar attended, and professional skills.

Reflection is the learning, realization and action of a person about a specific topic or idea. It is also

a response to experiences, opinions, events or new information, thoughts, feelings and opportunity

to gain self-knowledge. It is a way of exploring your learning and to achieve clarity and better

understanding of what you are learning. It consists of the topic about child and adolescents as part

of our classroom observation during the role play. It also contains about the words we use per group

in relation to the subject matter which is child and adolescent development. And the working

experiences I have undergone throughout my entire career. My working experienced includes the

previous work experience I had, the learnings I gained which molded me to become a productive

individual at present and develop my skills and competencies to do my duties and responsibilities.

It also helps me to become a more mature individual and competitive enough to do my task with

initiative.

Lastly, it includes all the handouts and exam of our activities throughout the entire session.

The handouts and exam contains about the topic on child and adolescent development and the

handouts which serves as the preparation for the upcoming Licensure Exam for Professional

Teachers.

Reflecting back to my first day of work at Fix Hub Computer Deals & Services as Front

Desk Clerk, I learned to ensure that the customer or client is satisfied with the product or service

provided, and with the sales, delivery, installation, and other components of the purchasing process.

Good customer service is making the customer happy because I believe it's important to be friendly

and warm with customers not only it leaves a good impression, but it also often prevents rudeness,

anger, and other negative emotions from taking over the experience. However, it is also important

to solve issues efficiently, speed is also a priority. Then, I worked at Department of Social Welfare

and Development, I learned to understand cultural differences since I was assigned at the

Municipality of Impasug-ong and Malitbog as Enumerator/Validator for six months. I encounter

different type of people with different dialect. Learning about different cultures can be a great way

of developing an understanding of cultural diversity. At present, I am connected at Toyota Valencia

City, Inc. which molded me to become a more competitive individual. I am responsible for all

human resource functions such as recruitment and selection process, records management,

timekeeping management, training and development, compensation and benefits, employee

relations, performance management, training and development and assists on handling employee

complaints and grievances and other task relating to the employee concerns and services.

I realize that good customer service is the lifeblood of any business. You can offer

promotions and slash prices to bring in as many new customers as you want, but unless you can get

some of those customers to come back, your business won't be profitable for long. It is all about

bringing customers back. And about sending them away happy - happy enough to pass positive

feedback about your business along to others, who may then try the product or service you offer for

themselves and in their turn become repeat customers. And actively trying to understand and

embrace cultural differences can open you up to a whole world of exciting new possibilities and

experiences. I also realize that every place of work has a different atmosphere, a different

environment, a different ethos. An efficient and harmonious working environment is created,

largely, by the way people behave in the workplace. This includes the behavior of employees,

employers and to, some extent, even customers and clients.

I will be a good example to everyone especially to my field of expertise and to my colleagues

at work. I will embrace cultural differences regardless of status in life and encourage people to

accept that everyone is different, the easier it becomes to understand.
