Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a form of training taking place in a normal working

situation. On-the-job training, sometimes called direct instruction, is one of the earliest
forms of training. It is a one-on-one training located at the job site, where someone who
knows how to do a task shows another how to perform it. It is a frequently used method
of training because it requires only a person who knows how to do the task and the
tools the person uses to do the task. Office practicum is an avenue for applying,
enriching and enhancing the acquired knowledge in the school in their particular field of
endeavor. It is a way of changing the student’s outlook in life through exposure in the
performance of actual work relevant to IT that may serve as a stepping-stone for future
career. It develops interpersonal relationship with other employees within the
cooperating agency. For this matter, I need to motivate myself to make this work be
successful and done well. But for us to feel more approve from being successful in this
work, we should also have knowledge from what we have done in our training.
Complying this subject, practicum, may have a very big part of my career in being a
Bachelor of Science Major in Human Resource Development Student. It is serve as our
stepping-stone to achieve our goals. It may help me to improve my skills and learning. It
helps me to understand more about my chosen career which is to develop more of my
ability to approach other. To have a good relationship to others and also how to manage
my patience whenever how hard my work is.

Chapter IV

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING ACTIVITIES

I am Mariel Rafols, 4th year student from the College of Business in

University of Rizal System Rodriguez Campus, taking up Bachelor of Science Major in

Marketing Management course. On November 23, 2017, was the day that I have started

my OJT at the Department of Agrarian Reform. I was with New Era University student

and we were in the same department which was in BLTI Monitoring Department.

first I'm nervous that I might mistake those who order me I don’t have any idea on

what we are going to do in this department. I was thinking about the work that might be

assigned to me I also experience how to operate a Xerox machine at first, I don’t know

how to use it but when one of the employees taught me how to operate it and I also

experience to answer their phone calls, every time I answer the phone, the caller will

look one of the employee, then I’ll just call their names, then who ever came in the table

to get the phone, because I need to remember a lot of things.

The next day, Mam Marivic taught me how to encode those paper works like

Memorandum and Requested letter I learned a lot of things in my OJT, some of it I

adopt and apply to myself and some of it helps develop my skills and enhance my

knowledge. I was so thankful that I have my OJT in this office. I learn to be more patient

in every task that given to me, to be nice and humble in every person I interact and

most of all to love my work.

As day pass, I get comfortable to me to other employee because all of the employees

are very kind to us and sometimes they are very funny which made us laugh and feel
happy in our department. when it’s already time of our out, we also say goodbye to

them as a respect. I really appreciated the effort that they accepted me and considered

me as their co- employee.
