 123 Khaki 1 ball (C)

YOU’LL ALSO NEED

One dowel, about 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) diameter, 24 in. (61 cm) long

Make the Wall Hanging

Cut 48 strands of yarn color A, each about 60 in. (152.5 cm) long.
You’ll be looping groups of yarn strands over the dowel and pulling the ends
of the strands through the loop to secure.
In this pattern, we’ll call the groups of strands tassels.

Lay the dowel onto a flat surface and with small pieces of tape, mark the
center 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm).

Center Tassels
You’ll make the first 16 tassels across the marked center of the dowl.

For the first tassel, hold 3 strands of yarn together and fold in half.
Loop the strands over the dowel, as shown below, then pull the ends of the
strands through and tighten.

Working from left to right on the marked center of the dowel, make a total of
16 tassels.

Now cut 36 strands of yarn color B, each about 50 in. (127 cm)
long.
Hold 3 strands of yarn together and fold in half, then loop the
strands over the dowel to make a tassel.
Make 3 tassels of yarn color B on each side of the center tassels.

Cut 6 strands of yarn color C, each about 40 in.

(101.5 cm) long.
Using 3 strands of yarn color C for each tassel,
make a tassel on each side of the yarn color B
tassels. Divide the strands in each of the C color
tassels into 3 groups of 2 strands each and braid
for about 6 in. (15 cm).
With a scrap of yarn color C, tie the 2 braids
together as shown. Trim the ends of the strands to
about 8 in. (20.5 cm) below the tie.

Cut 36 strands of yarn color C, each about 16

in. (40.5 cm) long.
Using 2 strands for each tassel, make 9
tassels along the tied together braids. Trim the
ends of the yarn strands evenly.

Cut 30 strands of yarn color C, each about 40 in. (101.5 cm) long.
Using 3 strands for each tassel, make 5 tassels onto the dowel on
each side of the previous tassels.

Cut 18 strands of yarn color A, each about 50 in. (127 cm) long.
Using 9 strands for each tassel, make a tassel on each side of the
dowel. In each of these A tassels, divide the strands into 3 groups
of 6 strands each and braid for about 12 in. (30.5 cm).
Tie a scrap of yarn color C at the end of each braid, then trim the
strands to about 2 in. (5 cm) below the tie.

Cut 6 strands of yarn color A, each about 60

in. (152.5 cm) long.
Using 3 strands for each tassel, make a tassel
on each end of the dowel. Divide the strands
in each tassel into 3 groups of 2 strands each
and braid for about 6 in. (15 cm).
With a scrap of yarn color A, tie the 2 braids
together as shown.
Divide the strands under the tie into 3 groups
of 4 strands each and braid for about 5 in.
(12.5 cm) under the tie. Tie the end of each
braid with a scrap of yarn color A. Trim the ends of the strands.

Cut 20 strands of yarn color B, each about 16 in. (40.5 cm) long. Cut 1
strand of yarn color A about 20 in. (51 cm) long. Using all 20 strands of
yarn color B color, make a tassel on the center of the A strand. Tie each
end of the A strand to the yarn color A braid, then arrange the B strands
behind the C strands as shown.

strands each and braid for about 9 in. (23 cm).

Cut 6 strands of yarn color A, each about 25 in. (63.5 cm) long. Using 3
strands for each tassel, make a tassel on each end of the dowel. Divide
the strands in each tassel into 3 groups of 2 strands each and braid for
about 3 in. (7.5 cm).

Cut 60 strands of yarn color C, each about 30 in. (76 cm) long. Using 3
strands for each tassel, make 10 tassels on each end of the dowel.

Cut 6 strands of yarn color A, each

about 25 in. (63.5 cm) long. Using
3 strands for each tassel, make a
tassel on each end of the dowel.
Divide the strands in each tassel
into 3 groups of 2 strands each
and braid for about 3 in. (7.5 cm).
With a scrap of yarn, tie the 2 yarn
color A braids at each end of the
dowel together over the center of
the yarn color C tassels. Trim the ends of the strands as shown.

Make the hanger

Cut 4 strands of yarn color A, each about 50 in. (127 cm)
long. Using 2 strands for each tassel, make a tassel on
each end of the dowel.

Repeat to make a B tassel on each end of the dowel, then a

C tassel on each end.

At each end of the dowel, braid the A, B and C tassels for

about 13 in. (33 cm). Tie the 2 braids together to make the
hanger.

Trim the ends of the strands.
