Abowd and Beale’s Framework

1. Purpose:
- Nintendo switch envisions a future where you'll bring your Nintendo Switch
with you, set it down on a table, and play multiplayer with friends. Given that
the screen looks to be in the seven-inch range. It is a hybrid console that can
be used as both a stationary and portable device.

2. Controls

- The versatility of the Joy-Cons is incredibly useful, both with the system in its
handheld configuration and docked in an entertainment center. Each comes
equipped with face buttons, two bumpers, and triggers, directional buttons, as
well as additional bumper buttons located on the side from when you’re only
using one of them at a time.

3. Feedback
- The gaming console is portable enough and easy to carry for a complete
gaming experience. The handheld device is up to 3-4 hours of playing time,
the graphics are in high quality and the controllers can be split up so that you
can play with your family or friends. The switch offers a more family friendly
gaming console because its controllers can be split up.

 Describe the cue that the user needs to act?

When the switch gaming console is turned on it signals the user to insert the two
Joy-Cons to the monitor of the console at the start of the set up the console asks for
the user to agree with the terms and conditions of using the gaming console and
basic information about the user like what language do they use and the console
also needs to connect to the internet for updates and downloading of games. The
console through its monitor shows the user how to control and project the game to a
TV screen using the Joy-Cons

 What is the goal of the action that the user performs?

-The goal of the action that the user performs is to entertain himself through the use
of the gaming console by playing and following what the games of the console tells
him to do.

 How does the user articulate the action in terms of the interface?

-The user needs to use the Joy-Cons in order to control the gaming console. The
Joy-Cons are basically the key in using the gaming console. If the user wants to
project the game into the TV screen, then the user should insert the HDMI cable to
the console’s monitor and connect it to the TV in order to project the game on
screen.

 How does the output of the system change in response to the action?

-The system of the gaming console varies depending on what the gaming console
shows on its screen. If the console follows what the user intends it to do, then the
user will continue to operate using the console until the user reaches his goal while

errors that happen during the interaction of the user and console can lead the user
to reset or rebooting the console in hopes of fixing the problem at hand.
