TRY OUT UN BAHASA INGGRIS SMP

Package 6 2016/2017
One day, a farmer and his son were walking to town with their donkey. They were going to sell
the donkey to the market.
On the road, they met some young girls. One of the girls laughed and said, “Look how foolish
they are. Both of them are walking though one of them could be riding of the donkey.” When the farmer
heard this, he told his son to get up on the donkey and ride.
But, soon they passed two men standing near the road, “Look at that” said one of the men.
“The young boy is riding while his poor old father has to walk.” So, the son got of the donkey and the
farmer got on. They continued down the road toward town.
After a short time, they came to some old women standing at a corner. One of them asked the
farmer. “How can you let your son walk while you ride? He must be very tired. What kind of father are
you? So, the father lifted his son up and both of them rode until they reached town.
When they got to the town, a man saw them and asked “Is that donkey yours?” “Yes,” said the
farmer. “You are making that animal work too hard,” said the man. “You should carry that donkey!”
The farmer and his son got off the donkey’s back. They carried the donkey using wooden stick
and rope. At the town bridge, a crowd of people was laughing and pointing at them. The donkey was
afraid of all the noise, so he began to pull loose the rope. Unfortunately, the donkey fell into the water

old bomb.
First, I told the children to move away from the bomb. Fortunately, I had my mobile phone

A hungry crow saw an oyster on the beach one day. He wanted to eat the tasty meat inside the
shell, so he tried to open the oyster.

stayed tightly shut. He even jumped up and down on the oyster, but still he could not open it.
Another crow came by. He saw what the first crow was trying to do and said, "My friend, may I
offer you some good advice? I suggest that you pick up the oyster in your beak, fly high into the air, and
then drop the oyster onto the wide rock below. The oyster shell will break open and you will be able to
have your meal ".
The hungry crow thought that it was a very good idea. He picked up the oyster with his beak, and
then he flew as high as he could. When he was sure that he was high enough, he dropped the oyster onto

There was a young girl and her mother in small village. The girl was beautiful but very lazy. She
never helped her mother to earn a living. Every day, she dressed up and admired her own beauty in the
mirror. Besides being lazy, she was also spoiled. Whatever she wanted she had to get. This made her
mother very sad.
One day, her mother asked her to accompany her to the market. She said, “OK, but I don’t want
to walk beside you; you have to walk behind me.” Her mother sadly agreed. So the girl walked in front
and her mother followed her behind. Her mother was carrying a basket.
The mother and daughter looked very different. The daughter looked very beautiful in her pretty
dress, while the mother looked very old in her simple dress.
On the way to the market, people greeted the beautiful girl and asked who the old woman
behind her was. The girl said that the old woman was her servant. The mother was very sad but she kept
silent.
At last, the mother couldn’t stand anymore. She prayed to God to punish her daughter, and God

Fireflies are just name. They are actually very cool insects. And they are not even flies, they
are beetles. They have a way of sending out light signals every now and then. If you see them at night
on a tree, you might think it is a brightly lit tree. That is the kind of light these fireflies produce.
Fireflies have transparent abdomen. There are cells of crystals or chemical substances inside
it which get broken down by enzymes. Some energy is released in the form of light. However, the light
they send out does not have heat. The light is cold.
The fireflies send out light signals at fixed intervals. And the purpose behind it is to attract
beetles for mating. But one firefly’s signal is different from another’s, depending on its sex and the type
of family it belongs to. If a firefly sends a signal at a fixed interval but gets a response either too soon
or too late, it will ignore the signal. It is like a perfect dance sequence. If you are faster or slower than
your partner, the dance fails.
