o To provide the company with the appropriate remedies for both internal and external
corrosion for the company’s facilities and equipment
o Monitoring and following up all existing projects, such as cathodic protection (CP),
chemical inhibitor and coating applications during monitoring companies and their
contractors
o Work as a focal point to set up the basic and detailed design as well as the material selection
for different facilities used in oil and gas field with focus on those related to corrosion
control engineering
o Corrosion Prevention/Protection plans: Evaluation of Corrosion inhibitors (Static, NACE
Rotating Cage, NACE Bubble Tests and foaming/emulsion test). Injection of Corrosion
Inhibitors at all production wellheads at an appropriate dosage. Maintaining the desired
concentration of Corrosion Inhibitor in pipelines by residual inhibitor analyses.
o Corrosion Monitoring Plan: Techniques utilized include ER probes, LPR probes, corrosion
coupons, iron count method, thickness monitoring survey. Reporting the summary of all
the data in a comprehensive Corrosion Performance Report.
o Cathodic Protection Systems: PSP surveys of flowlines, tanks bottoms, underground
vessels and wellhead casings (instant-off potential surveys). DCVG Surveys and CIP
surveys for determining location of coating damage.
o Non-Destructive Testing: Management and liaison with contractors for DPT, MPI, UT,
and RT
o Corrosion monitoring and prevention of wellhead surface facilities, flow lines, and
processing facilities using corrosion coupons, corrosion/erosion probes, produced water
analysis, iron counts, residual inhibitors, and pH analysis
o Corrosion control of flow lines by optimization of corrosion inhibitor injection and
monitoring
o Evaluation of corrosion inhibitor efficiency and its economics

2) Injection of Scaling Inhibitor for all jet pumps power fluid lines. Maintaining the desired
concentration of Scaling Inhibitor in jet pumps by residual inhibitor analyses.
3) Injection of biocides for tanks and flow lines. Monitoring of biological growth by
surveying for SRB and GABs.
4) Ensuring the periodic pigging of the flow lines. Reviewing the analysis of pigging fluid.
o CORROSION MONITORING PROGRAM:
1) Corrosion rate monitoring through Corrosion Coupons, ER probes and iron count.
2) Corrosion rate calculations through Ultrasonic Thickness Survey. Calculation of
remaining life and Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP).
3) Responsible for providing Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) of Mechanical Integrity
for all new projects e.g. new flow lines, jet pumps, gathering facility etc.
o CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE:
1) PSP Surveys of the flow lines, trunk lines, buried plant piping (BPP), tanks bottom, and
underground vessels. To ensure that the protection criteria are met. To spot interference in
the structures.
2) Conduct DCVG and CIPS through contractors to investigate coating condition of flow
lines and trunk lines.
3) To conduct the bell-hole investigation on the basis of DCVG and CIPS. Recommending
pipe piece replacement or recoating on the basis of results.
4) To ensure that all water tanks are internally protected by Hanging Anodes. To arrange
for periodic inspection of these anodes to access their condition and plan replacement
