Week Three - Research

RESEARCH

What did you learn from your I have learnt a lot from my research as I now know all the codes
research? and conventions for my genre so I can use this to help me make
my production like a crime drama. I have also learnt lots of trade
marks from film makers to use in my production. Moreover, I have
learnt lots of content research that will help a lot to develop the
characters and make them more interesting and give me ideas
for what to do in situations like what type of bullying should I use
etc.

How has the research into your target
audience helped you improve your
ideas?
The research into my target audience has helped improve my
ideas as I now know what I can and can’t show. I also sent out a
survey to my target audience and asked them what they would
expect / like to see in my production. I gained a lot of feedback
that I will use for my production to make it better.

How has the research into your
platform helped you improve your
ideas?
The research into platforms has helped me improve my ideas as
mine is on YouTube so it gets age restricted if I put too much
violence or adult scenes so I need to keep this in mind as I want
my target audience to watch it. I also know that anyone can
access my video which is good.

How has researching characters and Researching characters has helped a lot as I know the whole
actors helped you decide who to background of my characters which helps picture who I want to
cast? play the role. Moreover, it has helped as I know what I want them
to look like as well so it will make my casting a lot easier.

What have you learned from your I have learnt a lot about my locations as it is good place for
test shoots? How will you use these lighting however some of my areas have bad noise pollution so I
ideas in your production? will need to change the location or try and edit it to make it
quieter.

What work do you need to complete I need to finish some of the research and the weekly blogs.

● ‘relevant & coherent’ – make sure your research sources are not just the same as the Media
product you hope to make - and talk about how they inform your planning
● ‘sustained’ – continue your research throughout the eleven-week project and don’t just limit it to
the first two weeks
● ‘accomplished & considered’ – all of the above referred to in your daily/weekly reflections
