Sheikh Mohamed is a Bahraini entrepreneur, the founder and
chairman of the Al Mashael Group which includes activities
in real estate, movie production, materials testing and
oil & gas.
Al Mashael Petroleum is a subsidiary of the Al Mashael Group
which Sheikh Mohamed established with the specific goal
becoming a leader in specialized trading of crude, petroleum
and petrochemical products. Next to trading activities
Sheikh Mohamed is committed to developing strategic
refining facilities to enhance the supply of niche products throughout the region.

The first facility is a specialized bitumen refinery in Oman which can supply high
grade bitumen to the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, South East Asia and
East Africa. Al Mashael is also creating a number of recycling facilities in Saudi
Arabia with the goal of making environmentally friendly base oil in line with
Sheikh Mohamed’s goal of preserving the environment for future generations.

Sohar Asphalt Refinery
Project Cost: $320m
Refining Capacity: 30,000 bpd
Bitumen Production: 1,000,000 MT per annum

Sohar Asphalt Refinery will be based in the logistically strategic Sohar

Industrial Port located it the Sultanate of Oman with easy transport to
South East Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and East Africa by Sea and the
countries of the Middle East by road network. All of these markets are
building out their road networks and infrastructure and will require steady
supplies of high quality bitumen.
The refinery will also produce 600,000 MT of products per annum including
naphtha and gasoil.

Waste Oil Recycling
Project Cost: $30m
Base Oil Production: 9,000 MT per Month

Al Mashael Petroleum is developing three waste oil recycling facilities in

the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has vast amount of waste oil
which would normally end up in a waste facility. Our facilities will have the
combined recycling capacity of 9000 metric tons of waste oil per month
and create new products which can be used for lubricating heavy trucks
and vehicles.
The recycling facilities will utilized the latest and most efficient
technologies to ensure a high quality product.
