1 Introduction
Telefire's TFL-1N Remote Signaling Indicator for Conventional Detectors and TFL-1AN
Remote Signaling Indicator for Addressable Detectors enable auxiliary indication for
detectors that are located in hidden areas such as closed rooms and above acoustic
ceilings, etc.
The remote Signaling Indicator is activated directly from the detector using the detection
line’s power without a need for auxiliary power sources.
The TFL-1N and TFL-1AN can be connected to a single detector or to a group of
detectors.
When activated, the Remote Signaling Indicator will flash both its LEDs alternately,
thereby drawing attention to a detector that is activated.
The Remote Signaling Indicator is especially designed for low power consumption so as
not to overload the IDC or SLC line.
Two models of Remote Signaling Indicator models are available:
• TFL-1N for conventional detectors.
• TFL-1AN for addressable detectors.

2 Compatibility
2.1 TFL-1N
The TFL-1N auxiliary signaling indicator for conventional detectors is compatible with the
following bases:
• TFB-180 standard base – when used with TFO-480, TFH-280, or TPH-482
• TFB-110 Standard Detector Base – when used with TFO-440, TFH-220F, or
TPH-442

2.2 TFL-1AN
The TFL-1AN auxiliary signaling indicator for addressable detectors is compatible with
the following bases:
• TFB-180 standard base – when used with TFO-480A, TFH-280A, or TPH-482A
• TFB-110A common base for addressable detectors – when used with
TFO-440A, TFH-220A, or TPH-442A

3 Installation
Planning of quantity and location of detectors and auxiliary indicators shall be done
according to the local codes and regulations and in accordance to the planning
requirements.
Warning
! Disconnect all power supplies, main and batteries before connecting or
disconnecting cables and devices to the control panel.

3.1 Installation

Note
i Notify the operator or the security personnel that the system will be temporary
disconnected before adding devices to a control panel.
Measure the wiring to ensure there are no shorts before connecting the wiring
to the detector.
Connecting or adding devices to a control panel shall be done when all power
to the control power (AC and batteries) is off.
