WELCOME TO THE NBS
PHD PROGRAMME
Thank you for considering Nanyang Business School (NBS) for your doctoral education in business.
The PhD in Business at NBS prepares you primarily for academic careers as Business School
Professors. Depending on the specific research topic that you pursue in your PhD thesis, you may
be well positioned to pursue careers as research scientists and consultants in think tanks, research
organisations and corporate research labs.

Our goal for the PhD students is two-fold: first, to help each student develop as a first-class researcher;
second to encourage each student to develop pedagogical skills and gain teaching experience in
their chosen area of specialisation. We provide all our PhD students individualised attention and a
wealth of resources.

Research is a process of discovery and continuous learning. It is an intensive 24/7 activity, but
extremely fulfilling. If you have what it takes to succeed, we look forward to receiving your application.
