MAKATI YOUNG BUSINESS CLUB

“Where great ideas become future enterprises.”

The Makati Young Business Club (MYBC) is a network of young Filipino

entrepreneurs ages 25-40 years old, whose mission is to ignite the Filipino youth’s
entrepreneurial spirit through training, mentoring and best practice sharing. MYBC
is created to support the Philippine R.A. 10679, or more popularly known as the
“Youth Entrepreneurship Act” of Senator Bam Aquino. Young Filipinos who dream
of starting their own business will be provided with the venue, network and
opportunities through MYBC.

MYBC is the home of the YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY – a training and

mentoring program that aims to help young Filipino entrepreneurs to create their
passion-driven business.

MYBC members fall under 2 main classification –

DREAMERS/MENTEES/APPRENTICE/STUDENT and DREAM-
FULFILLERS/MENTOR/MASTER/COACH.

Entrepreneurship… the word would easily make it to the top 10 buzzwords of the
21st century, if such a list exists. With numerous opportunities in both traditional
and non-traditional businesses such as e-commerce, freelancing and social
enterprise, it is clear why being an entrepreneur has become a viable option for
many people to build wealth, be their own boss, make a difference, or all of the
above. Getting into business, though, is no easy task. Despite advances in
technology that most industries have seen, it still does not change the fact that
more than 50% of new businesses do not make it past 5 years, let alone a decade.
Those who do succeed, on the other hand, were no overnight success.
Many started with practically nothing, in a dorm room or in their house garage.
Many invested their entire life savings – which was not that much – to start their
business. Many took decades of trial and error, and are still going through
improvements even up to this day. Thankfully, there is a group of young
entrepreneurs with a HEART – to serve not only their clients, but also those who
desire to start their own business. And these entrepreneurs with a heart have
banded together to form the MAKATI YOUNG BUSINESS CLUB.
The Makati Young Business Club (MYBC) is a group of young entrepreneurs (age
25-40) that aims to provide a venue for aspiring Filipino entrepreneurs to:
1. LEARN In support of the R.A. 10679 (Youth Entrepreneurship Act), MYBC
houses the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy Philippines (YEAP) – a training
and mentoring program that supports aspiring young entrepreneurs on their
journey from idea creation to business plan development to pitching for startup
capital. YEAP provides modular learning to help students start their business,
including supplemental modules on topics such as leadership, operational
excellence, public speaking and many more.
2. BUILD In support of the R.A. 11032 (Ease of Doing Business Act), MYBC
introduces the MYBC H.U.B. – to Help, Usher and Bridge aspiring young
entrepreneurs to the corresponding government agencies or LGU’s to accomplish
the documentary requirements needed to start their business.
3. GIVE BACK MYBC hones young Filipino entrepreneurs to become agents of
positive change, not only to the industry they serve, but also to their community
and to the country. MYBC members are trained and then required to propose,
create and execute community development projects at least once a year.
VISION: To be the leading development institution for enterprising young
Filipinos.
MISSION: To provide opportunities for young Filipinos to turn their great ideas
to great enterprises.

The Makati Young Business Club brings together young industry professionals
from a diverse array of backgrounds. This club offers both an on- and offline
environment to facilitate networking amongst young professionals within the
industry.
The dedicated members-only lounge at the MYBC showfloor is THE face-to-face
environment where you’ll encounter peers and obtain inspiration from leading
industry practitioners.
The members-only Facebook group offers an online environment to stay in touch
with peers, discuss challenges and to continue strengthening your network within
the leisure marine industry. Membership is for leisure industry professionals who
are under 40 years of age and is completely free.

The MYBC aims to encourage and inspire young industry professionals to
advance in their professional life and their daily work. During the YOUNG
BUSINESS TRADE show we offer you a free of charge – no strings attached –
programme which includes a meet and greet with our Breakfast Briefing keynote
speaker and a guided MYBC showfloor tour.
