Technical Specifications for vacuums pumps

Screw type hermetically sealed dry vacuum pumps suitable for continuous operation.
The pump shall be able to operate at atmospheric pressure (1 bar absolute) continuously for at
least 30 minutes, and have minimum pumping speed of 600 m3/hr at 10 mbar. The pumps
shall be water cooled and hermetically sealed with static seals only, no dynamic sealing are
acceptable. It shall have mechanical and electrical integration with integrated protection
function viz temperature, exhaust pressure and current consumption.

Quantity: 03 nos.

Scope of work:
Supply, installation and commissioning of three (03 nos.) screw type hermetically sealed dry
vacuum pumps at RRCAT, as per the following specifications.

A. Qualification criteria of the bidder:

i) Quotations will be accepted from reputed manufacturers or their authorized

representatives only. Dealer shall furnish letter of authorization from the OEM along
with the offer.

ii) The manufacturer of dry vacuum pumps shall be an established manufacturer of the
pump with engineering, manufacturing & testing facilities. Supplier shall have a
service center in India.

iii) The manufacturer shall have engineered, packaged, tested and supplied at least two
dry vacuum pumps of capacity minimum 600 m3/hr or more.

iv) Supplier shall provide a list of users for similar pumps, supplied in last 5 years, along
with their contact details and at least two of them shall have successfully operated for
a minimum period of six months. The bidder shall submit documents confirming the
above conditions along with the quotation. RRCAT may contact the users for their
feedback.

B. General requirement specifications:

1) Vacuum pump shall be dry screw type and must be suitable to accomplish continuous
demanding operation, preferably with variable frequency drive/variable speed
arrangement.

2) Pump characteristic must be provided for various inlet pressures. Product catalog of
the offered pump shall be submitted along with the offer.

3) The pump mechanism shall be smooth and quiet with noise levels below 70 dB at 1
meter distance.

 4) Pump shall be supplied as a complete assembled unit, ready for operation. It shall be
mounted on a base frame. The base frame in turn shall be mounted on anti-vibration
pads, which minimizes transmission of vibrations to foundation or building.

The bidder shall also attach list of spares along with their price (the cost of spares will
not be included in the cost comparison of bidders. Also, purchaser reserves the right
not to include the procurement of spares along with the present tender).

C. Pre-dispatch approval
Before dispatch of the pumps, mechanical run test shall be carried out with air or
nitrogen and following measurements to be checked to match as per the specifications:
a) Noise level Measurement
b) Minimum 30 minutes continuous operation at atmospheric pressure (1bar
absolute) inlet
c) Measurement of vacuum level

The supplier shall submit product compliance reports in standard format to RRCAT
for pre-dispatch approval. Material shall be dispatched only after written approval from
purchaser. Sample format of product compliance reports shall be submitted along with the
offer.

D. Acceptance Criteria

The acceptance criteria for vacuum pumps systems shall be as follows:

1. Compliance certificate from the supplier as per the asked specifications or factory
test report.
2. Successful testing of the specified operating parameters of vacuum pumps by
supplier representative at RRCAT.
E. Documentation

Supplier shall provide one hard copy and one soft copy of operation manual in
English language for the entire system. The content of manual shall include installation and
operating, safety and maintenance instructions.

F. Warranty
One year warranty shall be provided for the complete vacuum pumping system. From
the date of installation, PBG clause will be levied. For details see the attached tender
document

G. Compliance table
In the offered value column the supplier/ bidder should mention the actual parameters.
Merely writing “complied/ accepted” will not qualify/ considered. Supplier shall also furnish
copy of product catalog along with the offer to confirm values given in the compliance table.
This compliance table after filling shall be necessarily uploaded along with the e-tender,
failing which the offer will not be considered.
