LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE IN GRADE 6

TOPIC: SOLAR SYSTEM

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
 Identify the eight planets in the solar system.
 Appreciate the importance of protecting our planet.
 Draw and label the eight planets present in the solar system.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


a. Topic: Solar System
• The different planets present in the solar system are: Mercury,
Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto.
b. References: Internet
c. Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Visual Aids, Print Materials
III. LEARNING PROCESS
A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES
1. Daily Routine (Prayer, Greetings, Checking of Attendance)
2. Observing classroom cleanliness and orderliness.

ARRANGE ME:
 The learners will identify what is being shown in the
picture by arranging its letters properly.
ASK: From the activity you have done, what do you think is
our lesson for today? ANSWER: SOLAR SYSTEM

 The class will be divided into two groups.
 Each group will be given a task that enclosed on the
activity cards.
 Each group shall be given 10 minutes to prepare.

(The teacher will present a video clip related to the topic, Solar
System and the learners will have to answer the following questions
after.)
 Which planet is closest to the sun? MERCURY
 Which planet is the farthest from the sun? NEPTUNE
 Which planet is as the same size as the Earth? VENUS
 Choose one among all the eight planets and describe it.

 What steps will you take to protect our planet's environment?
 Why is it important to protect our planet?
