Dear Mr.Ralkar,

With reference to the below mentioned pump model, the power at shut off condition (62 kw) mentioned in our
technical data sheet seems to be a typographical error and the correct power at shut off condition is 96 kw. It is not
critical to check the power at shut off condition, but the pump should work satisfactorily at duty conditions.

 This is further to tele communications we had today. Thanks for checking the data for pump SDD 200/200.
The shut off power is 96KW as against TDS number of 63KW.
 PL. mail the corrected data for the pump with corrected curve. Accordingly we will now take up with NTPC
for acceptance of this pump and keep you posted.

We are having issue of excessive -pump power consumption at Shut Off conditions. Details are
already forwarded to your design dept. Need possible reasons and solution. Customer is not
accepting pumps during PG tests.

Request log this complaint till resolution.

This is further to our tele- communication today.

• WE have procured from Best & Crompton Engg Ltd, Pumps Division –Main pump -Pump
Model SDD 200/200 ( motor Driven)-410 m3/Hr-105M head-1470 RPM-and SDC 200/200( engine
Driven) & Jocky pump-CNW 100/315 -75M3/Hr @105M vide PO no.20090077 & 20100160
• Scanned copies of approved TDS and actual reading of power consumption during PG
tests is also attached.
• NTPC MDCC was issued by NTPC ROI-Chennai
• PL. check the power consumption TDS data -62 KW at Shut off- but actual recorded
data is 117.14KW/97.5KW after the necessary corrections. This is extremely high and as
such NTPC is not accepting these pumps
• Request your support urgently on what is the correct data of shut off power for
this model and what was the data at the time of factory tests. If TDS data needs
correction, then accordingly new need to approach customer with your letter.
• I will ring you tomorrow.
