The Most Iconic Fashion Brands for Teens

Teen clothing brands have changed dramatically over
the last decade. Although, some fashion trends from the 90’s
are coming back into style. This is making some classic brands
come into the open and show their true colors. These are the
most popular girl brands coming into style: Pacsun, H&M,
Forever 21, Rue 21, Hollister, and Wild Fable. Popular guy
brands are Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Lacoste, Nike, and
American Fighter. Some of the brands may not be known by
the buyers, but it is not something that consumers really pay
attention too. For example, Wild Fable is not a very known
brand by people, but it can be found in very popular stores
like Target. Brands do not have to have a store privately for
them. Most of the clothes are just sold in popular clothing
stores.

Celebrity Fashion On a Budget
Celebrities are a major influence on the clothes that
we choose to wear and how we wear them. We look up to
them to look like them and be like them. A celebrity wardrobe
is not entirely in a “normal” person's budget. Celebrities are
usually styled by an actual stylist. They stay right on top with
trends no matter what their age. They inspire some of our
fashion today. If you see some expensive Bionda Castana
Nicole Lace pumps, your can find a very close resemblance in
an average shoe store like Payless or Famous Footwear.
Tommy Hilfiger shorts are also very popular and can be
paired easily with a loose blouse. Shorts like these are made
and found in very common stores like Rue 21 and even
Target. It is hard to find clothes that are relatively similar to
the celebrities, but with enough digging the double is out
there somewhere.

Online shopping is slowly increasing in size and how many
people are using it in the lives. The most popular shopping place is
Amazon. Nothing is guaranteed to the customer that the product that
they see on the computer or phone screen is exactly what they will
receive in real life. Whether it is the products color be completely off,
or the size wrong, the whole entire product may not even show up
for all the person knows. Sellers do not have to be honest with the
consumers. They sometimes label the stores as “100% authentic
products” just to sell more items. Here are some things to look for
when online shopping: If the picture is used in many other websites
but by a different person/account,be aware of a non-authentic
product, be on the lookout for exaggerate advertising. A major
advertiser are actors and models. The sellers will give their product
to a celebrity and they will have the job to show it off to other
consumers, but some of the celebs have not even tried the product.
The celebrities actually get paid to help promote brands.The reason
brands use celebrity is because people tend to believe their favorites
over just something that they see. Just like how people would review
a product in the comments. Be careful and don’t believe everything
you see.

 Clothing Pieces That Seem ‘Timeless’
Some pieces of clothes are just a must have to have in
your closet. For example, a plain white t-shirt is a definite
must have. It can be paired easily with an outfit. A white
v-neck would also be useful because with the extra neck and
chest that is shown, necklaces can be layered and can make
a colorful and playful look. A lightweight sweater is also very
useful. It is perfect for the winter-to-spring transition. It can be
layered over a collared blouse with some relaxed jeans for a
comfortable but fashionable look. Skinny jeans, you could
hate them or you could love them, but they are a useful
piece of pant that you can wear almost every day and can be
styled with everything. Especially with light colored skinny
jeans, they can make your look slimmer. A classic white
button down blouse is a cute thing to have when trying to be
a little formal but comfy. Pencil skirts are also nice to have in
your closet when going to a formal meeting or interview.

When you pick you clothes you will look at one
look on yourself and not be very confident, but then
you try another color and you are immediately in love.
Psychologists have found that certain colors make us
feel more confident and bring more attraction to the
eye. The color black is often not taken very seriously
because it is usually “what goths wear,” but this is not
entirely true.Research says that the color black can
mean powerful,prestige and intelligence. As a result

graduation gowns for the meaning of intelligence.
Most people that choose to wear black clothing are
ambitious yet sensitive. To the people that wear this
color the internal qualities are what really matter to

Fashion Nova was one of the most popular places online to get
new clothes from different clothing lines. The clothes tended to
be more cheaper than other shopping centers. Fashion Nova
was one of the most weared brand of clothes worn to coachella
last year, but now a new brand has claimed coachella for the
year. If you don’t know Coachella is a music festival held every
year that attracts everyone to the California desert. A New York
brand called Area has moved to the top of the list.”We’re not
pressured to pay someone to wear something. They want to
wear it because they genuinely love the brand and the
product,” said one popular influencer who did not want to be
named. Area’s major win came from the popular celebrities like
Katy Perry,Kendall Jenner, and Tiffany Young. Small brands like
Area depend on sponsored Instagram posts and influencer
campaigns. Area has taken a different approach since
designers and co-founders Beckett Fogg and Piotrek
Panszczyk launched the brand in 2014.

The Met Gala 2019

The Met Gala is something every influencer and celebrity wants to
be invited too, but sometimes that dream just doesn’t come true.
Every year there is a theme. This year the theme was “Camp:
Notes on Fashion.” It was not called camp because there would
be sleeping bags and tents around one the carpet, but it was
because it was to represent exaggerated fashion. Some
celebrities exceeded this theme by going was too over the line.
This years Met Gala hosts were Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Serena
Williams and Alessandro Michele. The Gala was held at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Bradley Cooper, Blake
Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o,
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, and Lena Waithe. Designers
include: Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, Miuccia Prada, Pierpaolo
Piccioli of Valentino, Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, and Bob
Mackie were some of the famous names that attended the Gala.
Even though it is an honor to attend, some celebrities decided not

Interview: With Melissa Clark and Madison Hiller
Trends are one of the things that gets young
teens going crazy. Some trends try to come back from
the dead, some succeed. I went and interviews two
different people about the trends in their time. One
was born in the 1980s and the other in the 2000s.
The first questions were thrown to Melissa Clark who
was born in the 1980s. She was first asked what the
most popular trends in the 80s were: “Spandex, crop
tops, ripped knees, leg warmers, scrunchies, high
waisted jeans and neon colors were everywhere,” she
answered. “ I always had this big air and when I met
my husband mullets were the guys style, mullets
weren’t entirely my favorite, but it was just the trend
for men. My favorite trend would probably beba crop
top, because I could rock a mean crop-top in those
days.” The next person that was interviewed was
Madison Hiller from Yale Junior High.

“The top trends I would say are mostly shoe
related like Vans, timberlands, doc Martens,
Birkenstocks and crocs. There are also other
trends like scrunchies, holy jeans, Ron Jon shirts
and Pura Vida bracelets. Most of the clothes
that are coming back into style are “vintage” like
the crunchies and holy jeans,” she said. “My
least favorite trend would probably be Doc
Martens because I just think the design of the
boots are to rustic and don’t go well with other
clothes, while my favorite would be
Birkenstocks. They are comfy and easy to pair
with an outfit in the summer. They can be easily
found with a reasonable price.”
