A.1. Good morning to one and all present here. Today I am going to express my views on the topic
‘Mobile Phone – A Necessary Evil’.

Mobile phone, a multipurpose instrument performs the role of a phone, radio, music player, camera, etc.
with ease. With the internet facility available, it helps us access social sites and TV channels too. No
doubt it has made our life convenient, but one can’t deny the fact that it is hazardous too. Mobile phone
of today is no longer a mere means of communication. Music lovers are so glued to it that they don’t
pay attention even to the traffic while crossing the roads. This leads to accidents sometimes even fatal
ones. Moreover, exposure to radiation also causes cancer and other complications. Excessive use of this
gadget has broken the bond of genuine love and warmth in relationships too.

We must use this otherwise very useful gadget sparingly and judiciously, without risking self or others.
Reaping the benefits it offers without compromising on the quality of our lifestyle is the need of the
hour.

A.2. Good morning to one and all present here. Today I am going to express my views on the topic
‘Importance of Power’.

We can’t deny the fact that we have become reckless users of power, be it at school or homes. Our
carelessness and indifference clearly shows us to be unmindful of the indispensable role power plays in
our life. It offers us life conveniences and comforts, something without which we cannot live. The
appliances and gadgets used at the drop of a hat are completely dependent on electric power.

This calls for the need for us to contribute our bit in saving power. We can prevent wastage of power by
being vigilant, switching off fans, lights, geysers, motor pumps, ACs, TV and radio when not in use. In
schools, power monitors should be appointed and students who take initiative in preventing heedless
consumption of power should be appreciated through incentives and certificate. At personal level too,
we can enlighten our parents, friends, neighbours and relatives about the problem and seek their
cooperation.
Thank you.
