LEARNING AREA: ART
QUARTER: 1st
TEACHER: JAMES PAUL C. ARELLANO
TEACHING DATE AND TIME: JULY 11, 2018 (8:30 AM – 9:30 AM & 11:00AM – 12:00PM)

I. OBJECTIVES

A. CONTENT STANDARDS: The learner demonstrate understanding of art elements and processes
by synthesizing and applying prior knowledge and skills.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The learner performs/ participates completely in a presentation of
a creative impression (verbal/nonverbal) of a particular artistic period.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES/OBJECTIVES: At the end of this lesson, the learners expected to:
 Identify distinct characteristics of arts during the different art periods;
 Reflect on and derive the mood, idea, or message emanating from selected art work; and
 Compare the characteristics of artworks produced in different art periods.

III. LEARNING PROCEDURES


A. ACTIVITY:
1. The lesson will start in the game of charades, where learners will be grouped to act a movie
and will pick the one in each group who will guess what movie are the others are trying to
act. The fastest one who can guess the message acted by the group will win.

c. 10 commandments
d. The hobbits
e. gods of Egypt
2. After the first activity, the learner will give their thoughts and opinions about the game and
on how it relates to the lesson.
3. The teacher will show the time line of different ages of art. (Ancient Art – Medieval Art)
4. The teacher will post some of the artworks made in each Art ages and the learner will
identify the distinct characteristics of art during the different art periods.
5. The teacher will evaluate the answers of the learner about the distinct characteristics and
comparisons among the different art periods.
IV. Assignment
Choose a period of art and make your own art work (painting, drawing, molded clay, etc.)
with the same elements and characteristics of your chosen ages.
