 BRIEF HISTORY

Historical documents revealed that the municipality of Ocampo, known before as Mabato-bato,
was existing since 1735. Mabato-bato started as a sitio which was described as abounding with
rocks and boulders of various sizes which were scattered over the place.

Since the early 1900s, the town of Ocampo had been a part of Pili though it separated years later,
in 1949, and became an independent municipality.

August 13, 1949, marked a major event in the history of the town as this was the inauguration
date of Ocampo's elevation into a municipality. It was also during this day when the name
Mabato-bato was officially changed into Ocampo, in honor of the late Don Julian Ocampo, then
the governor of Camarines Sur.

(Narrative/account of learnings and achievements, issues faced and corresponding resolutions)

My first week of being an immersion trainee is good, I meet different people and a new
environment to make myself learn about new things. In that week I’m happy and tired because
there’s a lot of work to do and at the same time happy because were not sitting while other
employees are a lot of work to do. In that week I meet many people and they are all nice to
work with.
In that week we had an orientation and deploy to our assigned department. The things
that we do in that week is stamp many papers with the name of our head because it needed in
the registration for voting, we cut papers and we eat a lot of food that treat by our head. We
experience simple task but we learn.
I must say that in that week, working is not that easy even though the task that we do are
simple still hard because we are new in that situation. Im thankful because I learn and I’m done
with the first week.

Week # :2
Inclusive Dates : November 17 – November 23, 2018

(Narrative/account of learnings and achievements, issues faced and corresponding resolutions)

In my second week I become close with the employees and to our head. I realized that
being a worker is different from being a student, but in some way the same because you have an
head employer the same with the teacher that you must follow the difference is the things that
need to do is hard to accomplish one task. Being a worker is hard and tiring but you will be happy
because you made an achievement in your life.
That second week our things that we do is transfer the old papers of birth in the new paper
by writing. Simple task but hard because you will feel pain in the end and its pretty normal because
were working. I learned that I’ll become true to myself in order for me to learn and for me to
become nervous in front of others.
And in that week I become close with the student in different school because in that office
were like a family helping each other and the employer are our parent ready to teach in some
things that we need to do in order for us to be better in our future.

 What are the skills I learned from work immersion?

This work immersion program helps the students learn outside the premises of the school.
In Local Government Unit of Ocampo where I become work immersion trainee and I assigned in
the office of civil registrar where the birth, marriage, and the death are being registered. In the 10
days of being a trainee I learn being patient, work hard, communicate with the head and workers
and be a good trainee to the head and workers and other people that surrounds me and they taught
us simple proper ethics while working and other things that we should apply in the future.
 What contributions did I give to the company (knowledge and skills)?
In that immersion I think the contribution that I give is to share my knowledge about using
a computer and a gadget, and my skills to design the workplace because it’s Christmas so we
should feel the spirit of Christmas. In the office of civil registrar I can say that it’s not the best
experience that I want but it’s the memories that I will keep when I get old because that’s the
time that I’m starting to the journey I wanted. In that office I didn’t feel that we are just a trainee
but their son and daughter though still we should do our part, to help.
 What are my experience with the people around me?
My experience with the people around me is they are not the workers that can call but a
family will guide their children to the correct path. I can describe them as a member of a family,
our head who’s like a mother who will teach his/her children to learn a things that can help to
achieve it’s every goals, to guide, give words of wisdom and teach us how to work properly, our
aunt’s that help to do our things properly and be productive in life and an uncle who cook for us
when we are hungry. The civil registrar office is the family that I met at the same time a good
workplace to start. In that 80 hours that I spend I’m happy if there’s a lot to do and to accomplish
because my day won’t be wasted and I don’t want to seat and see them working while I’m not.

 What are the most memorable events during my work immersion?

The most memorable event that I experience in that workplace is to eat with them because
it’s Christmas there are so called “bunos” and our head is o caring to her employees and little did
I know that every “bunos” she’s treating her employees with food. In that day after eating we take
picture and post it on facebook, a memories and plus our head is a senior but a millennial liker.

 What are my recommendations for the improvement of the work immersion program?
As a work immersion trainee I recommend that find a company that can really improve
the skills and knowledge of the student and be trained to enhance it because the K-12 curriculum
say that who graduated with it can go to work but for me I can say that we are not yet ready to go
with that process because our self is not yet fully trained to go in the real world.

 My advice to those who will take their work immersion in the near future?
My advice to those who will take their work immersion in the near future is learned even
in the small thing that teach by your employer because every small things matter.
