 General information on England
The country I choose was England. I choose this country because
England is where all the family on my mom’s side grew up at and I feel
that my family has a lot to do with England.
England is located in the United Kingdom or UK and the UK is located in
western Europe.
The official language spoken in the UK is English but still more 300
hundred languages are spoken there.
The current population as of November 8th, 2018, is 66,714,063.

 Geography and Climate
England is an island separated from the
European mainland by the English Channel and
North Sea.
During the winter it doesn’t normally get any
colder than 0ºC or 32º F then during the
summer it doesn’t get any warmer then 32ºC or
89.6°F.
More than 61 million people live here. England
is the largest of the four nations, and the most English Channel
densely populated, especially in the South East,
near London.

In England the 3 types of government are Constitutional
monarchy, Parliamentary system, and Unitary state are the
types of government. Theresa May

Theresa May is the current prime minister of England.

In England all major values are in US dollars. In the US
England has the fourth largest economy out of the whole US.
The major exports in England are vehicles or transportation
equipment, industrial machinery, petroleum, electrical
machinery, data processing equipment, power-generating UK Euro
machinery, organic chemicals, iron, and steel.

The official religion of England is Christianity.
The main beliefs in England are Christianity this is 59.5% of the people's
beliefs, 25.7% of the people believe in no religion and 4.4 of the people
believe in Islam.

 Family and Education
In England the average family lives with their mom, dad, and two
children so they normally a house consists of four people.
In England they are supposed to complete the same about of school as
we do here in the US they go to one school for Kinder through 5th
grade, and then they go to another school for 6th through 8th, then
finally they go to another school for 9th through 12th grade.

Today in England people still play the
sport called cricket, it is England's
national sport. The 18 hundreds was
when the rules for cricket became more
important. When you play cricket you
need at least two teams that are made
up of 11 players. When you play there
are wickets about 20 meters apart
and two batters stand in front of the

In England the people celebrate New Year’s Eve with staying up till
midnight, celebrating with champagne, and fireworks and then on
January 1st everyone in England will normally stay home with their
families and have a quiet holiday. On April 19th the people of England
celebrate Good Friday. On April 21th and 22nd in England they are
celebrating Easter and Easter Monday.

If you were to be in England on May 6th you would
see the people celebrating Early May which is a
celebration of the end of the winter and the start of
the summer and you would maybe see a set of
young girls maypole dancing. In England they also
celebrate Christmas very similar to how there do in
the US some things change like instead of them
using stockings they sometimes use pillow cases and
then instead of sending the letters to Santa in the
Maypole Dancing
mail they throw them in the fireplace and the
draught carries the letters up the chimney for Santa
to read the smoke.

 George Stephenson

Scientific
Contributions
England has contributed railroad lines to the
world in the time period 1809 through 1859
and the railroad lines were invented by George
Stephenson.
The famous inventor George Stephenson did
amazing things like invent railroad lines he also
invented a safety lamp that is used in coal
mines. George Stephenson unfortunately
passed on August 12th, 1843.

In England 20% of there

electricity comes from renewable
resources such as wind,
Bioenergy, Marine, wave,
hydroelectricity, and solar. In
England they produce coal and
natural gas. People in England use
80% fossil fossils for electricity
and the other 20% is also used for
collecting electricity.

• In England if you put a postage stamp of the queens head
upside down on an envelope you can be charged with
treason.
• The amount of sandwiches eaten yearly in England is 11.5
billion.
• In England the capital today is London but what a lot of
people don't know is that England's first capital was actually
