A RESOLUTION DECLARING GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 1, SERIES OF 2017, OF THE

MUNICIPALITY OF POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO, VALID

WHEREAS, Referred to the Body for review is General Ordinance No. 1, Series of
2017, of the Municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato, entitled, “AN ORDINANCE
INSTITUTIONALIZING THE ANNUAL SEARCH FOR THE CLEANEST AND GREENEST
BARANGAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO, PROVIDING
FOR ITS GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR”;

WHEREAS, This ordinance aims to give yearly recognition and awards to all
performing barangays in their pursuit and efforts of cleaning and greening their major
thoroughfares, roads, puroks and barangay facilities, among others;

WHEREAS, It is imperative to institutionalize the clean and green program of the

municipality in order to sustain the attainment of a better quality of life in the context of
environmental, social and economic security of its constituents;

WHEREAS, The Body finds the above-cited undertaking beneficial to the municipality
and within the power of its sangguniang bayan to enact, citing Section 447 (a) (5) (xiii) of the
Local Government Code of 1991, as its legal basis;

WHEREFORE, On motion of the Honorable Hilario G. de Pedro VI and on unanimous

sponsorship, the Body

RESOLVED, As it is hereby resolved, to declare General Ordinance No. 1, Series of

2017, of the Municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato, valid.
