Introduction
– The Euler formula that was developed
earlier was based on the assumption that
the concentrated compressive load P on
the column acts though the centroid of the
cross section of the column (Fig. 1).
– In many realistic situations, however, this is
not the case. The load P applied to a
column is never perfectly centric.
