Any assumed data are consulted from (Arcievala, Engineering and
Ecology in Pollution control, 1981).
 Influent BOD5= 370mg/l (average)
 Influent BOD5= 555 mg/l (max.)
 Assume complete nitrification occurs.
 Assume water temp. in the aeration tank = 18 °C.
 Assume BODu =1.47 BOD5.
 Assume TKN = 8 g/person-day.
 Assume P = 2 g/person-day.
 Assume Y = 0.6 (Sludge Yield Coeff.).
 Assume Kd = 0.07 d-1 (Endogenous Decay Coeff.) .
 Assume K' = 0.038 l/mg.d at 18 °C. (Specific Substrate Rate
Coeff.)
