DESCRIPTION

Methane gas digester treats organic wastes, like animal and food waste, in a
sustainable way. It uses Anaerobic digestion process, in which organic matter is broken
down to produce biogas and bio fertilizer. This process happens in the absence of
oxygen, so the digester must be tight sealed. The bacteria east up the waste came from
the waste inlet and digest. Once they had digested they release gases mostly methane
gas, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen and also water vapor, digestate is another
product of digester that is useful in the farm as a fertilizer. Methane rises to the top of
the container and travels the pipe to be collected in balloon or any reservoir and burned
to produce heat or generate electricity. Once the oxygen air is inside the bacteria will die
and there will be no methane gas produced. The container must not be transparent
because if the sunlight passes through the algae inside will have food to eat, use light,
water and Carbon dioxide inside for photosynthesis and releases oxygen that will kill all
the bacteria.

According to Bernoulli’s Principle, a decrease on pressure, the velocity

increases on the side and the increase on pressure, the velocity decreases on the other
side. Pressure and velocity have inversely proportional relationship on both sides. The
pipe is used to apply the principle. In the semi barrel acts as the big pipe and the gas
inlet on the top with a hose to the balloon as the smaller size pipe. In the big pipe, the
pressure increases because there are a lot of bacteria releases big amount of gas air
(methane) thus, the velocity of the gas decreases since there is no way to escape as
the pressure keeps increasing. On the other hand, the small pipe where the methane
gas travels to the balloon, the pressure decreases since there is no direct contact from
the bacteria that keeps the pressure high, thus the velocity increases since the air can
freely move on its own as it travels. The generator also applies the Torricelli’s
explanation of the Barometer regarding about temperature and pressure. The
increase of pressure in the big pipe (Barrel) results from the high/warm temperature
inside that helps Bacteria to release more biogas. Thus, increase of temperature felt
inside is the increase of pressure yet the decrease of the velocity.
