Our crying infants, screaming children, semi nude girls hiding themselves at the back of their men, disappointed faces, huge crowd
outside toilet, this was the inside picture of Chirang refugee camp when we visited in July. For few minutes, I lost my control and
wondered how people can be inhuman at this level. Why people forget that we may have different religion, language or even
belong to different nation but we all belong to one human race which is supposed to be superior from other creature on earth.

In 2012 and from last few years, lakhs people met with their fate due to the over flown of Brahmaputra and pre-planned attack by
some extremists in the name of cleaning of Bangladeshi infiltrators.

With the aim to provide relief to these innocent people, we launched a package of multifaceted activities including Assam riot relief
programme, Flood relief programme, Model village, Food kits distribution and advocacy programme.

Rehab’s Assam Relief Programme started on emergency basis, and distributed baby food packets, polythene bags, mosquito nets,
Infrastructure candles, buckets, mugs, clothes, utensils and other necessary items in the refugee camps of Chirang, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta

September 2012. During this phase,

eve of Eid-ul-Fitr spending Rs. 564,900
