Technical description of PALCASA

• The facility process an
average of 100,000 tons
of palm fruit per year

• Fruit grinding capacity:

30 tons per hour.

• Raw oil production:

about 16,000 tonnes
resulting

• Palm Oil mill effluent:

approximately 68,000 m³
per year

Initial wastewater treatment

The current system of residual

water processing at PALCASA
consists of 8 open lagoons
with a biogas emission of
around 3 million m³ per year.
Additionally the system
creates a number of
environmental problems.

monitoreo de los sistemas MDL de captación y
aprovechamiento del biogas de las lagunas de tratamiento.

El Programa IP-BIO permite el monitoreo a distancia por

telemetría, la entrega rutinaria de reportes de diferentes
niveles, incluyendo un reporte semestral a Naciones Unidas
(UNFCCC) y un sistema de alarmas en caso de fallas
