Recognizing Roles in Life

I-OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a. provide words or expressions appropriate for a given situation;


b. perform task by following instruction;
c. share prior knowledge about a text topic;
d. Infer thoughts, feelings, and intentions in the material viewed.

A. Preparatory Activities

2. Motivation
Riddle Game
The teacher divides the class into four and let them search the missing
letter as suggested by the following statement. Then, they must combine all the
answers to form a word. The first group to write the answer on the board will be
the winner,

1. I am the first letter of right.


2. You’ll find me in boar but not in bear.
3. I’m in the middle of ceiling.
4. You’ll find me in ore but not in our.
5. I have the sound of the sea.

B. Presentation of the Lesson


Instruct the learners to do the following:

For small groups of five, and take turns in answering these questions:

1. What kind of role in life


a. Interest you most?
b. Helps you put into a happy mood?
c. You prefer/enjoy doing? You like best
2. What are your talents or things you can do well?

Give reasons for your choices.

Share your answers within your group.


The teacher ask students their experience upon sharing their answers with the group. The
group can have 2 or more representatives in sharing to the class.

The teacher reiterate to students that they can find people whom they admire primarily
because of the roles they perform in making a difference not only in their lives, but also
in other’s lives.

Let the students pair up and reflect on these questions by sharing their answer with each
other.
a. Who do you consider as a person who inspires you because he/she is very effective
in performing his/her roles in life?
b. What do you think are his/her qualities that lead him/her to become successful in
performing his/her roles in life?

Let them share their answers with their classmates.

C. Generalization

Let the students answer the Four Big Questions.

a. What roles can you perform that will make a difference in your life?
b. Why is it important to recognize roles in life?
c. How can you perform your roles in life effectively?

D. Application/ Practice

Ten minutes image talk

Let the students pair up and ask them to look closely at the drawing of a teen-ager
looking intently at the giant incoming ship full of people waring different costumes.
These smiling people are waving to the teenager as if they are beckoning him/her to join
them.

Let them read the guide questions and share their answers to the class.

IV- EVALUATION

The teacher shows random pictures, then the students will pick one they are going to infer
something about the picture. Let the students write a paragraph on a 1 whole sheet of paper.

V –ASSIGNMENT

Read the poem he seven ages of man.
