Goal 12: Responsible production and consumption

The most important UN goal is responsible production and consumption. This

goal pops out because kids are always taught at a young age that it is very

important to follow the three R’s. People should always reduce, reuse, and

recycle. Relating to how companies produce items they should conserve natural

resources as the article states that “material consumption of natural resources is

increasing,”(UN Sustainable Development Goals Knowledge Platform) and

companies should also aim to create environmentally safe products that can be

reused or recycled safely. This statement from the article blatantly states the

fact that we are consuming more and more natural resources which is not ideal

because these sources are being used way faster than they can regenerate. With

a slow growing supply and high rise demand people need to find other options.

People of society should take advantage of environmentally friendly products

by recycling of them properly when we are through with them. This goal has

great potential in sustaining our communities and this should be focused on

because it will help reduce harmful waste which long term will support growth

of society. As a whole, everyone needs to prevent harmful pollutants from

poisoning the environment, and people should all aim to create and consume

products with care so they don’t ruin the communities they live in..
