Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Timely


Remember to be specific with your goals. A specific goal has a much greater chance of being
accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the six “W” questions:

*Who: Who is involved? *Which: Identify requirements and constraints.


*What: What do I want to accomplish? *Why: Specific reasons, purpose or benefits of
*Where: Identify a location. accomplishing the goal.
*When: Establish a time frame.
EXAMPLE: A general goal would be, “Get in shape.” But a specific goal would say, “Join a
health club and workout 3 days a week.”

1) My ACADEMIC goal is: to keep up with my work for senior year.


Three steps I will take to complete this goal are:

a) have a schedule and reminders so that I know due dates and deadlines for
assignments or projects.

b) manage my work time for each class

c) manage my time and make sure to be able to manage other activities and errands

2) My LEADERSHIP/SERVICE goal is: to hopefully become one of the captains


for my school soccer team .
Three steps I will take to complete this goal are:

a) show dedication by showing up to every event, every practice, and every game

b) work my hardest every game. I will do this by staying focused and not giving
up.

c) show leadership and that I am responsible enough to become a leader in my


team.

3) For next semester, my personal goal is: to get a membership to a fitness center
and workout every other day.

a) save money to be able to pay the amount each month

b) be dedicated and responsible so that I get the right amount of exercise per week

c) manage my time and make sure to be able to manage other activities and errands
