ABOUT THE PRINT/SCAN PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTIVITY STUDY
In Q3-2016, Canon Canada Inc. partnered with third-party market research organization, Industry Analysts Inc. (IA, Inc.) to conduct comparative performance
and productivity testing; evaluating print speed and scan compression of the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5535i (compared to comparable Konica
Minolta, Ricoh, and Xerox multifunction copiers). The four models used for this market research study were: Canon Color imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5535i,
Konica Minolta bizhub C368, Ricoh Aficio MP C3504, and Xerox WorkCentre 7835i. The devices were selected based on their 35 (or comparable) page per
minute rated colour print speed and were each configured with PCL and PostScript print drivers for comparative purposes. Testing was conducted by Andy
Slawetsky, President of Industry Analysts, Inc. between September 20 and September 23, 2016. Results included in this marketing document are based on
a final testing report (dated December 10, 2016), which was prepared by Industry Analysts. Replicating these jobs using the embedded files may result in
times that vary by as much as 2-3 seconds. Results may also vary based on the computer hardware and/or software versions used.

† This claim was calculated using the following formula: Konica Minolta PCL Print Driver Time (180.5 seconds) minus the Canon PCL Print Driver Print Time (106.8 seconds), then
divided by the Konica Minolta PCL Print Driver Time (180.5 seconds), the result is that the Canon device is 41% faster when printing a duplex 50-page full colour PDF (file size: 39.5
MB).

† † This claim was calculated using the following formula: Konica Minolta scanned file size (11.1 MB) divided by Canon scanned filed size (2.8 MB), results in the Canon scanned file
size being 3.96 times smaller than the Konica Minolta scanned file size when scanning a 25-page marketing document. Comparatively, when calculating Konica Minolta scanned file
size (11.1 MB) minus the Canon scanned file size (2.8 MB), then divided by the Konica Minolta scanned file size (11.1 MB), the result is that the Canon scanned file size is 75% smaller
when scanning a 25-page marketing document.

“The Canon Color imageRUNNER ADVANCE

C5535i defaults to 300 x 300 dpi scanning
compared to the default setting of 200 x
200 dpi… the better image quality of the
Canon provides a significant advantage over
the Xerox model. Canon’s file sizes are also
significantly smaller than those from the
Ricoh and Konica Minolta models.”
