EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: EA 3834B is a parasympathetic depressant affecting
the central nervous system as well as the organs of circulation, digestion,
salivation, sweating and vision. Its pharmacological action blocks ac
etylcholine centrally and peripherally like atropine, with psychotomimetic
Sctivity, EA 3834B has more central potency than atropine.
Median Lethal Dosage, Animals:
LpS0 (intravenous, mouse) = 43.1 mg/kg 24=hr
[ps0 (intravenous, rabbit) = 30.1 mg/kg 24-hr
Lp50 (intravenous, cat) = 1.0 mg/kg 24-hr
1050 (intramuscular, mouse) = 0.64 mg/kg 24-hr
Minimum Effective Dosage, Man:MEDSO (intravenous, man) = 0.00174 ng/kg (calculated)
ACUTE PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECTS (initial symptoms) include increased heart rate,
‘Tightly elevated blood pressure, moderately dilated pupils, slightly blurred
Seaeey Sleepiness, slight dryness of mouth, dullness in mental processes,
vision, o1eeP contact with reality. Moderate symptoms include rapid heart
Pete, dry lips, mouth, and skin; elevated temperature, sedation, fleeting
Tiicbions or hallucianations, brief lapses in concentration, transient
ainfGsion, dizziness, vomiting. Signs of severe symptoms are | Very rapid
conee et eate, high blood pressure, dry lips, mouth, and skin; disturbances in
performance, memory, and attention, incoherent speech, delirium, vomiting,
peter, dizziness, staggering, prostration, sedation, stupor, and coma.

perience. The most noticeable peripheral autonomic effects are dry mouth
pei mydriasis, which may persist after the delirium has cleared.
CHRONIC PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECTS (monkeys). Intravenous daily doses of EA
Se34B given 20 times in 4 weeks to groups of male and female monkeys pro-
duced the following effects:
0.010, 0.2, and 1.0 mg/kg Decreased locomotor activity and
ataxia.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
INHALATION: Immediately. remove from exposure. Seek medical attention
immediately. If breathing is irregular or has stopped, start resuscitation
and administer oxygen.
EYE CONTACT: Flush out eyes with saline solution to prevent absorption’
through mucous surfaces (15 minutes). Do not rub eyes. Beek medical
attention immediately.
SKIN CONTACT: Wash skin with soap and water to prevent absorption
through abrasions and skin, or orally by ingestion. | If wa hing is imposs-
ible, absorbent powder in the skin decontamination pad of the M13 kit may be
beneficial. If a large quantity is on skin, add solution by waghing with 1
N. hydrochioric acid and then with water. Seek medical attention immediate
ly.
INGESTION: Cleansing the mouth with an astringent swab may be comfort
ing and will reduce the foul breath associated with parching of the mem-
ednes. “Fluids should be given sparingly because of the danger of vomiting
ved also because of the likelihood of temporary urinary retention. Turn
patient on their stomach with head to side to avoid aspiration in case of
periting. DO NOT induce voniting. Seek medical attention immediately.
CAUTION: If body temperature is elevated above 102 DEG F and mucous
