Learning Competencies:
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students are expected to
1. Identify the nature and process of communication
2. Discuss the various models of communication
Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Greetings
2. Prayer
3. Checking of attendance
4. Review: What is communication?
B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity ( Picture-picture)
The teacher will group the class into 5 groups then each group will be given pictures about
people talking each other. After 1 minute, the students are asked to describe the given
picture through their representative
2. Analysis
3. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the four models of communication.
I Aristotle’s Model
II Laswell’s Model
III Wilbur Schramm’s Model
IV Berlo’s SMCR Model
The students are asked to give examples of each model based on their experiences.
4. Application
Group the students into four groups. They will portray the given situation (5 mins)
a. Lawyers are defending their client in court
b. World leaders are teleconferencing using Skype. The topic is Climate
Change.
c. Class discussion
d. Live telecast on typhoon Yolanda
III. EVALUATION
Each group will be given charts for them to write the differences of the four models of
communication.
What to do?
Differentiate the four models of communication using this chart:
Rubrics:
Content- 20 pts.
Presentation and Delivery- 20 pts.
Teamwork- 10 pts.
Total- 50 pts.
