Hello, my name is Răzvan Cronț and I am the fourth speaker of the government .

Today I will briefly

summarise what my colleagues said and I will try to convince you that the stereotypes affect
Romania.

Speaker 2 talked about biases that foreigner have about us , and although they are generally fake ,
false or based on lack of knowledge , we still let them affect us. We can prove that we are
catalogued as something that we are not: gypsies, a dirty and poor country. But actually, gypsies are
not established just in Romania, our economy was the fastest growing in the European Union in 2017
and we are a clean country, according to many studies.

Stereotyping can lead people to live lives driven by hate, and can cause the victims of those
stereotypes to be driven by fear. For example, many homosexuals and lesbians are afraid to admit
their sexuality in fear of being judged. It is a lose-lose situation, both for those who are doing the
stereotype and those who are victims.

This phenomenon is not only hurtful, it is also wrong. Even if the stereotype is correct in some cases
constantly putting someone down based on your preconceived perceptions will not encourage them
to succeed.

It can lead to bullying from a young age. Jocks and Preps pick on the Nerds and the Geeks; Skaters
pick on the Goths, so on and so forth. Stereotyping is encouraging bullying behavior that children
carry into adulthood.

Some studies attest the fact that we tend to behave in different ways because of the stereotypes. For
example, those who believe that the women with fair hair are less intelligent tend to descend the
level of the discussion and deal with more well-worn subjects when they are in their company.
Overall, their behavior is more immature. Also, people tend to be calmer and slower when an elder is
around.

This happens because some stereotypes are so deeply stubborn in us that leads us unconsciously the
mode of action and reporting to others or even to ourselves.

We can be seen better in the eyes of strangers if we are seen better in our eyes, domestically and
then externally. We have to work as a country to solve this massive problem.

As a conclusion, I wish to acknowledge that stereotypes are wrong in several levels. They convey a
negative impression. More than once they can become barriers in communication, knowledge and
socialization. The stereotypes can become harmful and can produce frustration.

So, let me ask you some questions. Aren’t you people tired of being screwed over? Aren’t you sick of
being ashamed of your country although you should not? Aren’t you tired of losing opportunites?
AREN’T YOU TIRED OF THESE TAGS?

I was the fourth speaker of the Government, thank you.
