Consecration to the Holy Family
Next week leading up to June 16th - Father’s Day and
Holy Trinity Sunday – is an opportune time to reflect
on the importance of family. The divine family of Fa-
ther, Son, and Holy Spirit lovingly at the beginning of
time established the human family as the primary unit
of society. The Catholic Church teaches that marriage
and family are ideally ordered to the good of the
spouses and to the procreation and education of chil-
dren. (CCC 2201) Next Sunday, as such, is an excellent
time to thank God for this great gift as well as to thank
members of our families – especially our fathers -for
the support and love they have showed us over the
years.
It is also an excellent time to commit ourselves to
strengthening our own families and to asking for
God’s healing help and protection for all families. As
such, next weekend - June 15th and 16th – at the end of
all masses, the Knights of Columbus will be leading a
prayer of consecration to the Holy Family. Composed
by Archbishop William Lori, this prayer is an invitation
to all families of the parish to consecrate themselves
to the Holy Family, the ideal human model of familial
love set by Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. By offering this
prayer, we will be asking that our families be protect-
ed by the perfect son, Jesus Christ, Mary, the perfect
mother, and Joseph, who is a model for every father.
Cards with the consecration prayer printed on it were
handed out the weekend of the 8th and 9th. Families
are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the
prayer, to begin reciting the prayer this week, and to
bring their card with them on the 15th and 16th. The
consecration is not intended as a one-time event, but
to be the start of a deeper commitment to God.
In preparation for next week’s consecration, a holy
hour of adoration will be held this Tuesday night, June
11th at St. John’s starting a 6:30pm.

hour and prayer…

ALTAR SERVERS BREWERS BUS TRIP
The date has been set for the Annual Holy Family Altar
Servers Bus Trip. This trip is open to all Holy Family
church servers in the current 4th grade class and older.
Parents & siblings of servers are welcome, but any stu-
dent younger than 4th grade must be accompanied by a
parent.
The date is set for Wednesday, August 14th, 2019
Brewers vs. Minnesota Twins. The bus will leave from
St. John’s School Parking Lot at 7:30 am. Game time is
1:10 pm. Cost is $15.00 for students and $30.00 for
adults (no refunds if you pay and decide not to go.)
EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: SIGN UP BY JUNE 15TH
COST IS $10.00 PER STUDENT AND ONLY
$25.00 PER ADULTS..
Price includes bus ride, game ticket, tailgating before
the game and sandwiches/chips/dessert/beverage for
the bus ride home. We will ask each family for some
food donations for the meal on the bus coming home.
Everybody attending the trip will need to fill out a dioc-
esan permission slip (students & adults). We will hand
these permission slips out once we have the completed
registration form & payment. Registration forms can
