A/C Inefficient Cooling due to Engine Cooling Fan Concern 2004

Issue: Some 20112016 Ranger vehicles built on or before 14Mar2016 equipped with a diesel engine may
experience a concern where the Air Conditioning (A/C) performs inefficiently. No other symptoms such as engine
overheating or loss of power are present.
Action: Should a vehicle present with the above concern, technicians are advised to follow the Service Instruction
below.

Service Instruction
1. Carry out a Fan Clutch Test. For additional information, refer to Ranger Workshop Manual Section 30303.
Engine Cooling, Diagnosis and Testing.
If diagnosis points to an inoperative engine cooling fan, go to step 2.
If diagnosis does NOT point the concern to an inoperative engine cooling fan, this TSB does not apply, refer to
the Workshop Manual for normal diagnosis/repair.
2. Replace the engine cooling fan. For additional information, refer to Ranger Workshop Manual Section 30303.
