A. Preparation

1. Review

Identify if the following value is a solution to the expression.

1. x2 + 3x > 4 x=5 <true>

2. 2y2 + 5 ≥ 4y x=-2 <true>


3. 5b2 +3b ≤ -10 x=0 <true>

4. 3x(x - 8) +15 < 0 x=-2 <false>

5. (x - 4) (x + 2) < 5 x=6 <false>

2. Motivation:

a. What is your idea about the pictures?

b. Identifying statement as TRUE or FALSE.
