SCHOOL ACTIVITY REQUEST FORM

Title of Activity: Teachers’ Enhancement Seminar Workshop on Transformation and Inquiry–Based
Approach in Teaching
Schedule: October 29–30, 2015
Venue: San Vicente National High School

Rationale / Purpose of the Activity:

The present K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum of the Department of Education is focused on the
total development of learners. All educational programs and learning activities consider the child as the core
of instruction. Different classroom activities including assessment of students’ performance are considered
to help them develop their potentials to the fullest. Trainings of teachers should also be conducted to
improve teaching and assessment of students.

In addition to this, educators in all levels are considered potent forces in molding the youth to
become nationalistic, productive, globally competitive, law-abiding, responsible, God-fearing citizens and
leaders in the near future.

It is in this light that teachers need to be oriented on the different laws, policies, duties and
responsibilities as workers in the Government. They need also to be informed on the new approaches in
teaching to help the learners attain their greatest potentials. Hence, this activity.

Objectives Outputs
1. Enhance teachers’ knowledge on the different laws, policies,
duties and responsibilities as workers in the Government.
2. Capacitate the participants in applying the inquiry–based
approach in teaching.
