II. Contribution of realism to education
1. Arguments are based on truth which is present before us.
2. Science and technical subjects in the curriculum, life useful skills.
3. The teacher objectively imparts knowledge with isolating his desires with facts and
sentiments.
4. There is no place for punishments, repression and fear but affection, sympathy, and human
qualities in the schools system.
5. Education as widened its scope. Vocational and technical subjects have made educational
liberal.

III. Issues and challenges addressed by realism in the 21st century skills
1. Problem Solving
According to Haag (1982) education systems in the world have expanded quantitatively rather
than qualitatively making them unable to address current social problems. This issue is very
common to the learners now a days because complex problems that we can’t even conceive right
now will be everywhere. Students need the ability to solve complex problems in real time. As
society advances, so will the complexity of its manageable conflicts. This issue can be addressed
by realism through preparing the child so he can be able to solve the problems of life
successfully.
2. Collaboration
Most of the learners has this lack of collaboration skills which is very important. The technology
exposure of the child is a big hindrance to collaboration because it limits the child to see the
reality. Students must possess the ability to collaborate seamlessly in both physical and virtual
spaces, with real and virtual partners globally. It is said that realism can be prove through senses
that’s why it can address this issue through physical collaboration of both learners and their
teachers. They must know how to jointly working with each other. Connection and collaboration
with others are essential not only to their learning but their mental and emotional health. Limit
the exposure of the child to the technology. It is a skill that parents, teachers and educators must
exercise and understand with them regularly.
3. Communication
This is also one of the issue that the 21st century learners facing, the lack of communication.
Realism believe on what we see is real. It can be addressed by this philosophy through letting the
students communicate not just with text or speech, but in multiple multimedia formats. They
must be able to communicate visually through video and imagery as effectively as they do with
text and speech.

IV. How is Philosophy of Realism Effective?

It is effective on his own way. According to Aristotle, Realism is effective because it teaches
students how to find reality through logical processes and through senses. Students demonstrate
the ability to think critically and scientifically, using observation and experimentation. If we
cannot know reality, we are left only with the ideas that we have about reality (Richard Miller).
Understanding the material world through inquiry - seeking or questioning in search for
information or truth (Judith Hudson).
We can consider a philosophy an effective one if the child learns from it.
