Questions on Registration Form

1) How do I register on Next Step?


a) You can register on Next Step portal by following the below path.
b) Log on to https://nextstep.tcs.com -> Register Now-> select "IT"-> fill the registration
form.

2) My Institute name is not appearing in the drop down of the Institute Name list. What
should I do?

a) If the name of your Institute is not present in the drop down, please type your Institute
name correctly in the box and press enter or Click on next tab.

3) What is to be entered in telephone number if I do not have my own phone?

a) If you do not have a phone number, you can enter your Parents mobile number.

4) My account has got locked. What should I do?

a) You can now unlock and generate password yourself. In the Login screen you will see a
link to "Unlock Account and Reset Password". Click on the link to unlock and reset your
password. If you face any difficulty to unlock your account, please send a mail to us
on xplore.support@tcs.com mentioning your correct Reference no.

5) Will TCS conduct any Off Campus this year?

a) Please note that recruitment drives are planned purely on the basis of business
requirements of TCSL. We will be unable to commit on any off campus drives at this
point in time. You can check our portal www.careers.tcs.com occasionally for updates on
Off Campus.

6) I want to apply for an Internship in TCS. What is the procedure for the same?

a) Please write to us using "Ask me a Question" Tab mentioning your correct Reference
number.

Questions on Application Form

1) I want to change my Qualification (eg. B Tech to BSC). What do I do?


a) You can edit the Qualification in the application form by following the below mentioned
steps:

i) Log on to nextstep.tcs.com with your Ref ID/Email ID and password.


ii) Click 'Application Form' and go to 'Academic and Work Experience details' section.
iii) Update the correct course.

2) I want to change my marks in the application form. How can I change it?
a) Please note you can edit your marks by following the below steps:-

i) Log on to nextstep.tcs.com and enter your Ref ID/Email ID and password.


ii) Click 'Edit Application Form' and go to 'Academic and work experience details'
section.
iii) Delete the incorrect details and update the correct values.

3) How do I update my contact no in the application form?


a) If your status is "Application Received" or "Applied for Drive", please edit the contact
number in Application form using "Edit Application Form" tab. For other statuses
please send a mail for correction of contact number using "Ask me a Question" Tab
along with your correct reference no.

4) How do I upload my updated CV and photo in the application form?


a) In order to re-upload your resume/ photo we request you to follow the below steps:-

i) Log on to nextstep.tcs.com and enter your Ref ID/Email ID and password.


ii) Click 'Edit Application Form' and go to 'Other Details' section.
iii) Click on 'Upload Photo / CV details' tab and upload resume.

5) How do I change the Test location in the Application form?


a) Please follow the below steps to change the Test Location in your Application form.

i) Log on to nextstep.tcs.com and enter your Ref ID/Email ID and password.


ii) Click on 'Application Form' link.
iii) Click on 'Personal Details' and select a new test location from the nearest test location
drop down.

6) How do I change the Year of Passing (YOP) in the application form?


a) If your status is Application Received, you can change your Year of Passing (YOP) by
following the below mentioned steps:

i) Log on to nextstep.tcs.com with Ref ID/Email ID and password.
ii) Click 'Application Form' and go to 'Academic and Work Experience details' section
iii) Change year of passing.

b) If you have already received the offer letter, with the mentioned details, you can edit
these details only at the time of joining TCS. The changes will be made once your
documents are verified. You are requested to carry original documents for the changes
you wish to make.

7) I am getting an error while updating my X (10th) or XII (12th) Standard details in the
application form. What should I do?
a) Please note that you need to enter minimum 12 months up to maximum 16 months in
your X (10th) std Course duration details. Similarly you need to enter minimum 12
months up to maximum 16 months in your XII (12th) std Course duration details.
For example: For 10th / 12th std please enter your course duration as 01/06/YYYY to
30/06/YYYY.

8) What is to be entered in telephone number in case I do not have my own phone?


a) In case you do not have a phone, you can enter your Parents mobile number.

9) I am not able to submit the application form. What should I do?


a) Request you to please clear the cache, history and cookies. Please use latest version of
browsers (Internet Explorer 9.0 above).

10) I am not able to complete the application form from my mobile phone. What should I
do?
a) Please use a laptop or PC to complete the application form. Please do not use your mobile
phone to complete the application form.

11) I am not having my old Employee ID as it was not provided by my previous company.
What should I do?
a) Kindly note that you can mention required zeros (000) as your employee ID.

12) I have made a mistake in my DOB / Gender / Title. I want to change the same. What
should I do?
a) If your status is Application Received, request you to send a scanned copy of a valid
proof (eg. Passport /Pan Card etc.) Using "Ask me a Question” Tab
b) If you have already received the offer letter, with the mentioned details, you can edit
these details only at the time of joining TCS. The changes will be made once your
documents are verified. You are requested to carry original documents for the changes
you wish to make.

13) I have made a mistake in my Name. I want to change the same. What should I do?

a) If your status is Application Received, we request you to share the following details with
us using "Ask me a Question” Tab:
i) First Name
ii) Middle Name
iii) Last Name
iv) Request you to also send a scanned copy of any 1 valid proof containing the correct
format of your name. Examples of Valid Proofs: SSC mark sheet / Birth Certificate /
Pan Card / Passport / Aadhar card / College ID Proof.
b) If you have already received the offer letter, with the mentioned name details, you can
edit these details only at the time of joining TCS. The changes will be made once your
documents are verified. You are requested to carry original documents for the changes
you wish to make.
14) I want to change my father's name in my application form. What should I do?
a) In order to change your father's name in the application form, we request you to send a
scanned copy of a valid proof of your father where his name is correctly mentioned on
the document using "Ask me a Question " Tab.
Also mention the correct name of your father in the below format:
i) First Name
ii) Middle Name
iii) Last Name
iv) Examples of Valid Proofs: SSC mark sheet / Pan Card / Passport / Aadhar card.

15) I want to change my address in the application form. What should I do?
a) If your status is "Application Received" or "Applied for Drive", please edit the Address
Details in Application form using "Edit Application Form" tab. For other statuses please
send a mail for the following details for correction of address details using "Ask me a
Question" Tab along with your correct reference no.
i) House No. /Apartment Name/Block No
ii) Road/Street/Lane
iii) Area/Landmark
iv) City
v) State
vi) PIN code
b) If you have already received the offer letter, with the mentioned details, you can edit
these details only at the time of joining TCS. The changes will be made once your
documents are verified. You are requested to carry original documents for the changes
you wish to make.

16) My college / Institute name is wrongly mentioned in the application form. How do I
change it?
a) If your status is registered, you can correct your Institute name by editing the Highest
Institute Details in the Application Form. If your status is Application received, we
request you to send a scanned copy of a valid proof of your correct Institute name
(Examples of Valid Proofs: Semester Mark sheet, College Id Card) using "Ask me a
Question" Tab.

b) If you have already received the offer letter, with the mentioned details, you can edit
these details only at the time of joining TCS. The changes will be made once your
documents are verified. You are requested to carry original documents for the changes
you wish to make.

Questions on NSR

1. Is NSR Registration mandatory? By when do we have to complete the NSR


registration?
a. Yes, it is mandatory that a candidate should complete both of the phases of NSR
(registration and bio-metric process) before joining TCS

2. How can I do NSR Registration?


a. You need not wait to receive any mail from us to do NSR registration. You can begin
the NSR registration process by logging on to

https://nationalskillsregistry.com/nasscom/pageflows/itp/itpRegistration/begin.do

After registration, please make a note of the IT Pin. You would need to enter it once the Link
for NSR is active.
3. What needs to be mentioned in the EMPLOYEE CODE field while registering for
NSR?
a. You need to mention your CT Ref. No. as the Employee Code. After joining TCS,
you will need to update the TCS employee number in place of CT Ref No.

4. Where do I submit the IT pin number for NSR?


a. You need to submit the IT Pin number on the Next Step Portal. Log on to
https://nextstep.tcs.com .Click on ILP Corner -> National Skills Registry (NSR).

5. When and where is biometric test conducted for NSR?


a. After NSR registration, the biometric process is conducted at the Point of Service
(POS) for NSR. (For more details visit www.nationalskillsregistry.com).

6. What is Point of Service (POS) for NSR Registration?


a. Point of Service (POS) is an external service provider who will collect your NSR
acknowledgement form, verify details with proof of identity, collect the payment and
record your finger-prints through the biometric process. POS will issue Transaction
Identification Number (TIN).

7. Can the details in NSR be edited once the procedure of registration has been
completed?
a. In case you missed-out on some information while registering or made some errors
these can be completed / corrected after registration. In case you need to enter new
information such as an additional qualification, change in address or employment, it
can always be added after registration. Your details can be updated / changed only by
you through NSR. Such modifications can be done by authenticating the
modifications with a password different than your login password. Whenever there is
a change in your details, the system will send you an alert mail at your email id
registered in the NSR database. However, information which gets verified or which is
under the process of verification cannot be edited.

8. I have completed both phases of NSR. But did not receive NSR e -Card?
a. You need to log in to the NSR website and generate your e- Card.

9. What is to be selected in the NSR form on the NSR website: Present employer or Future
employer?
a. When you start the registration process, the NSR system would ask ‘NSR registration
requested by?”
i. Please select The option ‘another company’
ii. Choose “TATA Consultancy Services Ltd.” from the drop-down list.
iii. Mention the address of TCS as printed in the offer letter sent to you.
iv. In the field “Offer ID’ in NSR, enter the CT Reference No. E.g. CT2009XXXXXX
(mentioned on the first page of your offer letter).

10. My POS center for NSR is far from my residence. Can I complete the biometric process
at my ILP center on my joining date?
a. Please note that there are two phases for NSR. At least the first phase should be
completed before joining TCS as BGC document upload mandates you to enter either
NSR E-card or NSR acknowledgement slip.
b. If you are not able to do the phase II (Biometric) before the joining date, you need to
visit the nearest POS center at your TCS joining location and complete the same. We
do not arrange any POS set up for NSR at our premise.

Questions on BGC
1. Is completion of BGC Mandatory?
a. Please note that it is mandatory to complete BGC form before joining TCS.

2. How to Initiate BGC in next step portal?


a. Please follow the below given path in order to initiate BGC
Home > ILP Corner > Joining Letter > I Accept > Initiate BGC > Fill BGC Form

3. BGC tab is active in my Nextstep portal. But I did not receive any mail to upload my
documents in BGC. Should I wait for the mail?
a. You do not have to wait to receive the mail. If you have all required documents in
hand, please upload the same in BGC portal.

4. I am not able to open BGC page after logging into nextstep.tcs.com. On clicking
Background Check tab I am redirected to the homepage. What should I do?
a. Request you to please clear the cache and use latest version of browsers (Google
Chrome, Internet Explorer 9.0 above).

5. Please suggest the file Format to upload documents?


a. You have to upload the document in the pdf format.
b. The document size cannot exceed 2 MB.
c. You are required to upload and confirm the documents.

6. Do I need to upload original documents or a set of photocopies of Self attested


documents?
a. Please note you have to upload the original documents in BGC form.

7. Why am I not able to view ILP Corner and BGC in Nextstep portal?
a. The process of enabling the option to view the ILP Corner and BGC in the NextStep
Portal happens in phases. You will soon get access to ILP Corner & BGC in the
NextStep Portal.

8. What is the last date of BGC submission?


a. The joining letter for candidates will be released only after the review and approval of
all the BGC documents. We recommend you to upload the documents at the earliest,
since it will help us to batch you on time.

9. What is to be done if I am facing Error while submitting BGC form?


a. Request you to click a tick on the "I Agree" option before you submit the BGC.
b. Request you to login and complete the online BGC form using latest version of
internet explorer browser.
c. If the error still persists please send us the screenshot of the same mentioning your
correct reference ID to xplore.support@tcs.com.

10. While uploading BGC document, I got a pop up ‘"try after some time", due to which I
am unable to submit the documents.
a. You can write to us at xplore.support@tcs.com with your CT/DT Reference id.

11. What all details can be edited in the BGC form (If not confirmed)?
a. Please note that if you have submitted the BGC form you can change the editable
details through 'Edit BGC' option.

12. What is to be uploaded in the BGC for ID Proof?
a. You can upload any one of the below given document as an ID proof in the BGC
form (Voter ID, Ration Card, Driving license, Bank Passbook , Aadhaar Card).

13. How can I change Email ID in BGC form?


a. Please note that email cannot be changed in the BGC, you can edit these details only
at the time of joining TCS.
14. Who can be my reference, when I fill the reference details?
a. Please note that you will need to provide us with reference of your college professor
or your college TPO or HOD of your college.

15. What should be uploaded in the BGC, In case of unavailability of NSR ecard?
a. In case of unavailability of NSR ecard you can upload your NSR acknowledgment
mail in the BGC form.

16. Should I select "Yes" or "No" for the ECNR in the BGC form?
a. Please read "ECNR Description" and update accordingly.

17. When can I upload the Non-criminal affidavit in the BGC?


a. Please note that the link for uploading will be activated prior to your date of joining.

18. Can I type the blanks in the Non-Criminal Affidavit, Service Agreement, E-Stamp
paper (if applicable) and other affidavits?
a. Blanks in the Non-Criminal Affidavit, Service Agreement, E-Stamp paper (if
applicable) and Other Affidavits needs to filled in blue or black pen

19. I do not have any documents for my previous Work Experience. However, it is a
mandatory field to proceed further to upload documents in BGC Form. What should I
upload?
a. In case of unavailability of relieving letter from the previous company, you can
upload the joining letter or offer letter of the previous company in the BGC form

20. I do not have my Employee ID for my previous work experience / Internship. However,
it is a mandatory field to proceed further to upload documents in BGC Form. What
should I enter in that field?
a. Kindly note that you can mention required zeros (000) as your employee ID.

21. I do not have any documents for my Internship in my Previous Organization. However,
it is a mandatory field to proceed further to upload documents in BGC Form. What
should I upload in that field?
a. You can upload your Internship Letter from the Previous Organization.

22. I want to make changes in my name in the BGC form as my name is misspelt in the
BGC form. How can I make the change?

a. Please note you cannot make any changes to the non-editable fields in the BGC form
such as Name, Date of Birth, Marks, Course Name etc. since your offer has already
been rolled out with the details mentioned in the BGC form.
b. You can edit these details only at the time of joining TCS. The changes will be made
once the documents are verified. You are requested to carry original documents for
the changes you wish to make.

23. I erroneously uploaded a wrong document in BGC. How can I change the document
now?
a. Please note you can change/edit the document in BGC only if you have not yet
confirmed your BGC.
b. You will not be able to make any changes if you have already confirmed your BGC
as the documents are pending for approval from HR.
c. You can change/ edit your BGC when ILP HR rejects the wrong BGC document.
d. When the HR rejects a document, then you would get the option to re-upload that
document and would also get the option to add new documents under the document
type of the rejected document, wherever applicable.

Questions on Address Proof

24. What date should be filled in the Period of stay?


a. You have to mention Period of Stay as in From Date (Born Year) - To Date (2016 -
you need to mention the date on when you are filling the BGC form).

25. What is to be filled in the longest stay address in the BGC Form?
a. You have to mention the address that you have stayed the longest in the last seven
years. You do not need to upload any proof of address for the longest stay.

26. What is to be uploaded in the BGC for Address Proof?


a. You can upload any one of the below given document as an address proof in the BGC
form
(Passport/Ration Card/Aadhaar Card/Driving license/LIC Policy/Utility bill-
Electricity-bill-Landline-Mobile/Credit/Debit card statement/ bank Statement/House
Lease Agreement).

27. Can I submit Address Proof on mother's name?


a. Please note that address proof will be accepted only if it is in your name or your
father's name.

28. I have stayed at my hostel for 4 years in the last seven years. What do I need to fill in
the longest stay address?
b. You need to mention your hostel address in the longest stay address in this case. You
do not need to upload any proof of address of your hostel.

29. What is to be updated in the BGC in case of unavailability of House Number?
c. Request you to mention number "00" in case of unavailability of house number.

30. My father is in the Indian Air Force Address, so what is to be uploaded as address
proof?
d. Request you to make an affidavit of 100 Rs. on a stamp paper with the address
(Present/ Permanent/longest stay) and upload the same in the BGC. Also request you
to note that you have to mention only one address in present / Permanent/longest stay
Address.

31. Do I have to fill the CID form?


a. If your longest stay in the last seven years is in Mumbai/Pune/Thane/Navi Mumbai
then you are required to fill the CID form.

Questions on Birth Certificate

1. What if I do not have a Birth Certificate?


a. A birth certificate is a mandatory document. In case you do not have it, please apply
for it. As a temporary arrangement, you may produce a Birth Affidavit in English (that
matches your date of birth in Passport or SSC Certificate) on a Rs.100/- Stamp paper
containing your name, place and date of birth. Note: An affidavit is a written
declaration by a notary public.
2. What if my birth certificate does not have my name?
a. If the Birth Certificate does not contain the name, you will have to get the birth
certificate revised from the concerned authority. As a temporary arrangement, you
may produce a Birth Affidavit in English from a notary public (that matches your date
of birth in Passport or SSC Certificate) on a Rs. 100 Stamp paper containing your
name.
3. What if my date of birth differs in the birth certificate and other documents ( SSC
certificate/ Passport etc.)
a. You will have to get the other documents aligned with the birth date mentioned in the
birth certificate as TCS considers the birth certificate as a legitimate document.
4. What if the birth certificate is not In English?
a. As a temporary arrangement, you may produce a Birth Affidavit in English from a
notary public (that matches your date of birth in passport or SSC Certificate) on a Rs.
100 Stamp paper containing your name.
5. What is the valid Birth affidavit format accepted by TCS?
a. You can get the format from any notary. Please ensure that it is in English and on
stamp paper of value INR 100.

6. I have a certificate issued by the State Government, which mentions the details about
my community and date of birth. Can this be considered as a valid Date of Birth
Certificate?
a. No. If you do not have a birth certificate or if your birth certificate is not in English,
then you need to submit a birth affidavit on stamp paper of value INR 100. You can
get the format from any notary.

Questions on Passport in BGC

1) I don't have a passport. Is it mandatory to have the passport before joining TCS?
a) It is mandatory to have the passport or apply for the passport and submit the
acknowledgement receipt before joining TCS.

1) I don’t have a passport right now. However I have applied for it. Can the receipt of the
passport application be considered valid for document submission?
a) Yes, you can submit the acknowledgement receipt if you don’t have the passport.

Questions on PAN card in BGC

1) Is PAN mandatory?
a) Yes it is mandatory to produce PAN card on the day of joining. If PAN card is not
available on the day of joining, your training will be rescheduled.
2) I have lost my Pan-card. What do I do?
a) If you have lost your pan-card, then you need to apply for a duplicate pan-card. The
acknowledgment receipt and photocopy of the old pan-card needs to be uploaded in the
online BGC form and can be submitted at the time of joining.
3) Can I submit my Minor Pan card?
a) You will have to apply for a Major Pan card. You need to submit the Major Pan -card
acknowledgment receipt in your online BGC form. You can carry the Minor Pan-card at
the time of joining. Also, you will have to submit the Major Pan-card number in the BGC
form before the completion of ILP.

Questions on mark sheets in BGC

1) Where should the certificates and mark sheet copies be submitted?


a) All the required documents need to be uploaded in the respective BGC link in NCP
portal. However, all the Original documents should be produced for verification on the
day of joining

2) Do we need to submit the original or xerox copies of the mark sheets at the time of
joining TCS?
a) You need to submit the Original mark sheets of all the academic documents at the time of
joining. The original mark sheets will be returned after verification.

3) I don’t have 10th and intermediate original certificates. Can the Xerox copy of the
certificates be considered a valid document?
a) If you don’t have 10th and intermediate original certificates, please provide the following
documents
i) Custodian Certificate from the college.
ii) Attested Photocopies of the Marks sheet and certificate
4) I have lost my mark sheet. Can I submit duplicate copies of mark sheets?
a) Yes you can submit duplicate mark sheets if you do not have the original mark sheets.
You can share the web copy of your mark sheet attested by your College Principal or
Controller of Examiner
5) Can I submit consolidated mark sheet?
a) All semester original mark sheets are mandatory to join TCS.

6) I have not yet received my final semester result. Can I join TCS before receiving the
Final Semester results?
a) Yes you can join TCS before receiving the Final Semester results.
i) Please submit the original mark sheets that have been issued till date. In case you do
not have the original mark sheets, you can share the web copy of your mark sheet
attested by your College Principal or Controller of Examiner
ii) It is mandatory to submit a course completion certificate that clearly mentions the
following
(1) The final semester exam and entire course is complete
(2) The tentative date of publication of results
(3) Aggregate percentage or Marks scored till the semester for which results have
been declared
7) What if I am yet to receive Course Completion Certificate or Bonafide Letter?
a) It is mandatory to upload the Course Completion certificate or the Bonafide Letter.
However if you don’t have either of the documents, you need to upload the self-attested
copy of the undertaking form which we have sent through the mail.
b) Please note that this applies for the candidates who will have the final semester
examination and viva in the month of April. You will be required to upload the Course
completion certificate/Bonafide Letter before your TCS date of joining.

8) Can I join TCS before July, since the college issues the original certificates by July?
a) You can join TCS before July.
i) Please submit the original mark sheets that have been issued till date. In case you do
not have the original mark sheets, you can share the web copy of your mark sheet
attested by your College Principal or Controller of Examiner
ii) It is mandatory to submit a course completion certificate that clearly mentions the
following
(1) The final semester exam and entire course is complete
(2) The tentative date of publication of results
(3) Aggregate percentage or Marks scored till the semester for which results have
been declared
9) I don’t have the original mark sheets for any of the semesters, since the original mark
sheets will be issued along with the provisional certificate. Can the internet copy of the
mark sheets be considered valid while joining TCS?
a) In case you do not have the original mark sheets, you can share the web copy of your
mark sheet attested by your College Principal or Controller of Examiner
b) Please provide the following documents
i) Custodian Certificate from college
ii) Attested Photocopies of the Marks sheet and certificate
10) Is it mandatory to have a provisional certificate when I join TCS? Can I select early
date of joining and submit the provisional certificate when I receive it?
a) You can select an early date of joining provided you submit a course completion
certificate that clearly mentions the following
i) The final semester exam and entire course is complete
ii) The tentative date of publication of results
iii) Aggregate percentage or Marks scored till the semester for which results have been
declared
11) I have a backlog in 7th semester. I will receive my backlog result along with my 8th
semester mark sheet. Do I need to submit my 7th semester mark sheet which mentions
the backlog or submit the mark sheet after clearing the backlog?
a) Please submit all the mark sheets along with a course completion certificate that clearly
mentions the following
i) The final semester exam and entire course is complete
ii) The tentative date of publication of results
iii) Aggregate percentage or Marks scored till the semester for which results have been
declared.
12) Who can attest the documents?
a) The academic certificates needs to be scanned and uploaded in the NCP portal.

13) College has not issued provisional certificate yet. What is to be uploaded in the BGC
form as an alternative?
a. In case your Institute has not issued the degree certificate or provisional Certificate,
you can upload a Course completion certificate as per the guidelines mentioned in
your joining annexure.

Questions on Service Agreement

1. Is Fixed Deposit or Land Deed accepted as part of Service Agreement in lieu of surety?
a. Fixed Deposit or Land Deed are NOT accepted as part of Service Agreement in lieu
of surety.
2. What details do I mention on the E-stamp paper for Service Agreement?
a. Please refer to the below details while using E-stamp paper to update the Service
Agreement.
i. Description of Document: Article 5 General Agreement
ii. Property Description: NA
iii. First Party: TATA Consultancy Services Limited
iv. Second Party: Candidate Name
3. Who is the First party and Second party in the E-Stamp paper?
a. First party is TATA Consultancy Services and second party is candidate.
4. Can I use whitener in service agreement for correction?
a. No you should not use whitener in service agreement for correction.
5. Do I need to use the stamp paper for my service agreement?
a. Yes, you should use Rs.100 stamp paper. If Rs.100 stamp paper is not available, then
you should use two Rs.50 stamp papers.
b. The template for Service Agreement is available in the NCP portal. You need to

a. The stamp paper has to be purchased in your name.
8. What is the duration of service agreement period?
a. The duration of the Service Agreement is one year from the date of joining.
9. How many sureties should sign the agreement?
a. The agreement has to be signed by only one surety.
10. Who can attest the documents?
a. Surety Verification form needs to be attested by Gazetted Officers or Manager of a
nationalized bank where the surety holds an account..
11. Who can be a surety?
a. A Surety can be any individual who has filed his income tax returns with the income
tax department.
b. To become a Surety, at least one of the below criterion has to be met.
i. Tax paid in IT returns form/Form 16 should not be zero.
ii. Total income as per IT returns/Form 16 should be more than Rs 300000/-
12. What are the Documentary proofs that a surety must submit along with the Service
Agreement?
a. A Surety should be an income tax payee. It is required to submit the Surety' attested
photo copy of the latest Form 16 (for salaried individuals) or else Form 2 D (for self-
employed individuals) / IT Returns (acknowledged copy of latest IT Assessment
order should be submitted).
13. Should Service Agreement be notarized?
a. No. The service agreement need not be notarized.
14. Do I need to carry the original documents of the surety?
a. No. Only self-attested copies of the surety's documents are required to be submitted at
the time of joining.
15. In case surety's signature is different in pan card and other supporting documents,
what should I do?
a. If there is any mismatch in the signature of the surety in any of the documents, surety
should make a Signature Affidavit with specimen signatures on Rs.100 stamp paper
from a Notary, mentioning that the signatures are of the same individual.
16. Is there any age limit for surety?
a. Any individual who is an income tax payee can be a surety.
17. In Service Agreement, where should the surety sign?
a. The surety's signature should be present at the bottom of all pages of the service
agreement. On the last page of the service agreement the surety's signature should be
present at the designated place.

b. Please note that if you use Rs. 100 Service Agreement template, then Surety should
sign twice on page No. 5 and if it is a Rs. 50 Service Agreement template, then Surety
should sign twice on page No. 6.
18. My surety has multiple names in different documents. Whose name should I purchase
the stamp paper in?
a. In case, you are submitting any affidavit, the stamp paper needs to be purchased in
the relevant person's name. For eg. The stamp paper for Multiple Name affidavit,
Multiple Signature affidavit etc. for surety needs to be purchased in Surety's name.

1) When can I prepare the Medical Certificate?


a) The Medical certificate should be prepared within 30 days of joining TCS.
2) Who should sign the Medical Certificate?
a) Medical Certificate should be signed by a certified MBBS doctor only. Registration no.
of the Doctor is mandatory to be mentioned on the Medical Certificate.

1) Who can attest the documents?
a) The Non-Criminal Affidavit needs to be notarized by a Notary Public.
2) Can I type the blanks in the Non-Criminal Affidavit?
a) Blanks in the Non-Criminal Affidavit needs to filled in blue or black pen.
3) I am not able to write my Designation 'Assistant System Engineer' in the blank
available for it in the Non-Criminal Affidavit. What should I do?
a) You can increase the space of the blanks while filling the Designation in Non-Criminal
