Peace is the central theme of the Japanese Garden at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. It was
designed by Isamu Noguchi with “nodate” in mind – the outdoor tea ceremony which has
been part of the Japanese Culture since 1587. The intention behind nodate is to enjoy,
share and embrace the beauty of nature. On this occasion we are honoured to present a Saitama
Grand Tea Ceremony made possible by the special skills of farmers and tea masters from Prefecture
five selected Japanese tea-producing areas. Several teas from different Japanese Shizuoka
mountains and fields, with a wide variety of tastes, will provide a unique experience, Prefecture
enabling the participants to savour natural flavours and to discover, or restore, a Kyoto Aichi
