Advanced intuitive technology takes the form of Gesture Control¹, an interactive feature that
allows drivers to navigate through on-screen menus with a simple mid-air swipe of the hand,

Exterior
The Golf's shape is recognised the world over for its sleek, precise lines and understated
confidence. This latest Golf marks the next step in the evolution of the model, whose
reputation is founded on perfect proportions, clean lines and unmistakably European styling.
When viewed in profile, the eye is immediately drawn to the Golf’s long wheelbase and
distinctive horizontal lines that connect the front wheel arch with the rear of the car. The long
bonnet and roof, sharply angled rear windscreen and wide C-pillars are all signature Golf
features, as is the black radiator grille with chrome inserts. 01 03

LED daytime driving lights and LED tail lights are standard features across the range (LED
headlights are available in the Highline variant) and add to the Golf’s considerable on-road
presence.

The rear offers a resolutely modern interpretation of a design classic. The tailgate features an
integrated rear spoiler, while a black rear diffuser below the bumper adds a further point of

interest on the car that looks effortlessly cool from every angle.

variant only) is a must-have. Potent styling additions set the Golf R-Line apart from every

The Golf’s interior presents a balanced combination of comfort, style and ergonomics.
Volkswagen’s commitment to driver enjoyment is readily apparent in the Golf’s
dashboard, which is every bit as impressive as it is functional, while the choice of Black
or Pure Grey Vienna leather appointed upholstery# in Highline variants offers owners
even more opportunity to personalise their vehicle.

The first hint of the technology contained in the Golf is the striking high-definition
Active Info Display¹, which forms part of the optional Sound and Vision Package in
Comfortline and Highline variants.

Also included is Volkswagen’s Discover 9.2” infotainment system complete with

smartphone glass appearance. Gesture Control¹ allows the driver to navigate through
various menus with a simple mid-air swipe of the hand, while passengers can use the
Golf’s Media Control² technology to select music and more via their smartphone or
tablet. And every journey is an adventure with the Dynaudio Excite 400w premium
audio system, which produces a crystal clear aural soundscape.

The Golf Comfortline and Highline also both feature Air Care dual-zone climate control
air conditioning with air cleaning function and allergen filter to help keep the cabin air
clean and the temperature exactly to your specification.

The driving experience can be further personalised with the choice of Volkswagen’s
optional Driver Assistance package (available for Trendline and Comfortline variant and
standard for Highline), which not only offers drivers a suite of aids to make their
journey more enjoyable, but allows them to customise the vehicle’s settings exactly to
their taste.

And because this is a Golf, you’re assured of outstanding luggage space. The Golf hatch 03
holds a generous 380 litres, while the Golf Wagon offers an impressive 605 litres with

Technology and Safety

Class-leading technology helps make the Golf an efficient and satisfying

drive. But it also offers peace of mind by making the vehicle exceedingly
safe.

Drivers can take comfort knowing that an assortment of advanced safety

technology is there for them when they need it most. Standard across the
Golf range is Front Assist with City Emergency Brake (City EB) and
Pedestrian Monitoring*, which uses a radar sensor to detect when the
distance to the vehicle in front is critical and helps to avoid or mitigate a
potential impact. 01

Another safety feature is Manoeuvre Braking*, front and rear; assisting the 01 Front, front side, curtain and driver's knee airbag (7)^
driver to avoid or reduce damage in a potential low speed impact by
initiating emergency braking.

Other optional safety features include Lane Assist*, a lane departure

warning system designed to reduce the likelihood of the vehicle straying
from its intended course, and Volkswagen’s Proactive Occupant Protection
System. This clever feature detects when a potential accident situation
occurs and prepares the vehicle and its occupant restraint systems in
advance of a possible collision. Both are included in the optional Driver
Assistance Package.

Safety is paramount, but in-cabin technology goes a long way to making

every trip a pleasurable one. Rear View Camera* makes parking a breeze,
while the intuitive 8-inch infotainment system with App-Connect~ puts a
world of information and entertainment at your fingertips. Volkswagen’s
class-leading technology is no more evident than in its Active Info Display 02
(part of the optional Sound and Vision Package), a ground breaking addition
to the Golf that will forever change how driver and car interact.

Optional Packages Available
Few vehicles can claim to offer as extensive a range of driver comforts as the Golf, even
in standard trim. But adding an optional package takes the Golf to the next level.
The Driver Assistance package (standard in Highline) significantly enhances the driving
experience with its suite of advanced features designed to improve safety and assist with
day-to-day driving. You’ll be more relaxed and comfortable on long journeys with
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)* technology, which keeps the Golf an optimal distance
from the vehicle in front. Park Assist* uses sensors front and rear to identify spaces and 01
guide drivers into and out of them semi autonomously, while Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Traffic Alert* not only detects vehicles in blind spots to the left and right but can
detect oncoming traffic when reversing into tricky traffic. Light Assist (Highline models
only) provides enhanced comfort and safety on the road by means of automatic high
beam control. Plus Traffic Jam Assist*, Emergency Assist* and Lane Assist with Adaptive
Lane Guidance* available in DSG equipped models only.
The ability to personalise the driving experience is another unique feature of the package.
Simply set your preferred driver seat configuration (Highline variant only), air
conditioning, radio station and more and the Golf will respond to your settings every time
you take the wheel.
The Sound and Vision Package (Comfortline variant and above) puts a state-of-the-art
infotainment system at your fingertips in the form of a high-res Active Info Display¹ 02
instrument cluster and a 9.2” satellite navigation display offering Gesture Control¹ and
Voice Control¹. You can also enjoy music as it was meant to be heard courtesy of an
exquisite Dynaudio Excite 400w premium audio system.
Select the optional R-Line package on the Highline grade and the Golf receives a
thorough sports styling transformation inside and out, complete with R-Line body
styling, exclusive R-Line badging, 18-inch Sebring alloy wheels, progressive steering,
sports suspension and tinted rear and rear side windows.
