Team Consulting Project

Deliverable 3 Worksheet
Due date: November 5th at 6:00pm on Beachboard Dropbox

General Instructions: Complete the following worksheet and upload it to the appropriate
dropbox on Beachboard, along with each of your ten sources (preferably in PDF format). You
may input your answers directly into this worksheet, or create a separate document containing
your responses (make sure they’re clearly marked).

1. State your updated consulting issue

Based on your research in Deliverable 2, state your revised consulting issue below.

Next, describe some of the factors or variables you think either (a) contribute to the issue, or
(b) are a result of the issue. For instance, if you’re looking at “the effects of wearing fancy
hats in the office, on worker self-esteem”, then you could mention factors/variables that
make it more likely someone will wear fancy hats, and then discuss the outcomes of wearing
fancy hats (e.g., increases job satisfaction by boosting self-esteem, decreases job
performance because workers are distracted looking in the mirror all day, etc.).
2. Conduct your FIVE interviews
Conduct the interviews with the FIVE people you identified in Deliverable 2. Make sure to
ask all of the questions you developed. Record the answers to their questions in a separate
document (format it however you would like).

3. Interpret the results of your interviews

Compare and contrast the different responses of your interviewees. Draw some conclusions
about your issue and the factors/variables related to it. Did you find the results you were
expecting? Were you surprised by anything? Answer the questions below.

Summarize your findings from the interviews.

Which aspects of your issue were confirmed by the interviews?

Which aspects of your issue were not confirmed?

4. Revise the factors/variables that are relevant to your issue

Now that you’ve conducted your interviews, your next step is to conduct a mass survey of
individuals to test the factors/variables you’ve uncovered. You won’t really need to survey
anyone, I’ll give you fabricated data that will look like you surveyed them. Once you’re
provided with the data, you will need to analyze it and make sense of it.

Your interviews were conducted to help you isolate the causes and effects of the issue you’re
examining. Using the results of your interview analysis (above), answer the following
questions below. Each of these will be a different factor/variable you will measure in the
“survey” you will conduct next.

PRIMARY FACTOR:
(this is the main issue you’re trying to resolve)

SECONDARY FACTOR, or CAUSE or EFFECT 1:

(the first either cause/antecedent of the issue above, or effect/consequence of it)
CAUSE or EFFECT 2:
(the first either cause/antecedent of the issue above, or effect/consequence of it)

CAUSE or EFFECT 3 or CONDITION 1:

(the first either cause/antecedent of the issue above, or effect/consequence of it… you
could also consider a “condition” variable, meaning that cause-issue or issue-effect
relationships only exist under certain conditions)

CAUSE or EFFECT 4 or CONDITION 2:

(the first either cause/antecedent of the issue above, or effect/consequence of it… you
could also consider a “condition” variable, meaning that cause-issue or issue-effect
relationships only exist under certain conditions)
