Phenomena When a failure occurred on a specific DKA PCB, an FCA
was not blocked and many time-out errors occurred during
drive data transfer.

2 When installing a CHA, an MP of another CHA was
blocked
Phenomena When installing a CHA on a DKC with micro-program
version lower than V04 loaded,
an MP of another CHA was blocked, where many CHK2
occurred and the number of CHK2 occurrences exceeded
the threshold.
Severity (High, Medium, Low) Medium
Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when all the following conditions are
met.
(1) The version of micro-program in DKC is earlier than 60-
04-04-00/00.
(2) The version of micro-program written in FM of CHA to
be installed is 60-04-04-00/00 or higher.
(3) During installation of a CHA (CMF, CHT, CHE), the
CHA is inserted before the SVP message [ONL0869i]
"Please install the units in the system before starting this
process. If installation has been completed, select [OK]."
appears.
In detail, there are two cases in (3).
3-1) The CHA is inserted after the micro-program transfer
from SVP to SM is initiated. (micro-program in SM is
unavailable)
3-2) The type of CHA that should be installed on the DKC
is not inserted. (Micro-program version of SM doesn't
support that of the installed CHA)

3 Incomplete pool recovery and error occurrence

Phenomena Pool recovery could not be completed and a Storage
Navigator error message [3005-58491] (communication
time-out error) might occur.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when performing pool recovery
operation in the case of;
- Non-rebalanced pool.
(1) Pool capacity is more than 90 TB, or
(2) Pool used capacity is more than 90 TB.

- Rebalanced pool.
(1) There is, at least, one pool volume whose capacity is
more than 700 GB.

5 Host time-out during GDPS hyper swap


Phenomena When GDPS hyper swap was executed, host time-out
occurred (ABEND2E0).

(2) On RCU target side where a remote copy path is

6 Failed to report SIM for SM blockade


Phenomena After an SM was blocked, as an MP, which was supposed to
report a SIM, was rebooted due to a failure, the SIM for the
SM blockade was not reported.

8 CHP blockade during host I/O for TC pair volume


Phenomena When a host I/O for a TC pair volume was executed, a CHP
in operation on the TC pair was blocked.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem may occur when all the following conditions
are met.
(1) TC for Open.
(2) Version of micro-program on RCU is 60-02-48-00/00
(DP-TC concatenation support) and higher.
(3) RCU-Target port.
(4) HDP-VOL is included in the CHP which controls (3).
(5) A reset is issued from MCU to RCU.

10 High cache write pending


Phenomena The following may cause cache write pending rate to exceed 70%
(I/O inflow limit). In the worst case, the rate increases to nearly
100%, and systems may go down.

Flash Copy Version2 (FCv2) pair
2. Write I/O operation from a host to a source volume(S-VOL) of

11 Inconsistency of licensed capacity with actually used

Phenomena When Volume Migration/Quick Restore was executed for a

capacity in-use of SI/CoW was not consistent with the
actually used capacity. There were cases of inconsistency
that the used capacity was larger or smaller.

conditions (1) to (3) or (4) to (6) are respectively met.
(1) RAID600: 60-02-25-00/00 and higher.
(2) Migration from an SI P-VOL or S-VOL is executed
using Volume Migration.
(3) The above migration is either (a) or (b) below.
(a) From a normal LDEV to an HDP LDEV
(b) From an HDP LDEV to a normal LDEV

(4) RAID600: 60-02-48-00/00 and higher.


(5) Quick Restore of SI is executed.
(6) The above SI pair is made of either combination (a), (b),
or (c) below.
(a) P-VOL is a normal LDEV, S-VOL is an HDP LDEV
(b) P-VOL is an HDP LDEV, S-VOL is a normal LDEV

12 Inconsistency of licensed capacity with actually used

Phenomena When PS ON or offline micro-program exchange was
performed while an SI pair made of a DP-VOL and non DP-
VOL existed, the licensed capacity used by SI became
inconsistent with the actually used capacity. There were
cases of inconsistency that the licensed capacity in use was
larger or smaller.

met.
(1) SI for Open is used.
(2) Either SI P-VOL or SI S-VOL uses a DP-VOL.

13 No progress of TC pair initial copy processing


Phenomena As TC pair initial copy processing was not progressed, the
pair status didn't change to PAIR, but remained in COPY.

Conditions of Occurrence Problem may occur with the following conditions met.
(1) 60-02-48-00/00 and higher
(2) Open Volumes
(3) TC or UR pair with P-VOL and S-VOL are HDP-VOL
(4) During the operation in (3), the usage rate of a pool
associated with the S-VOL is lower than the value of 20%
reduced from the threshold. * Usage rate is lower than the
value of 20% reduced from the lower one between the
variable threshold (5 to 95%) and the fixed threshold (80%).
(5) Any of the following
- After the pair in (3) is deleted, a TC pair is created using
the previous S-VOL as the P-VOL
- In the UR-TC cascading configuration, a TC pair is created
using the UR S-VOL as the TC P-VOL
- Takeover and Re-sync are performed for TC pair in (3)
