Matthew 14:13-21 Disciples Giving Out Bread of Life

Twelve disciples commanded to feed the multitude The greater work that disciples of Jesus will do (Jn 14:12);
Witnesses to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8)

Disciples unable to comply; insufficient resources Apart from Christ, the disciple can do nothing (Jn 15:5b)

Disciples bring their resources to Jesus Disciple abiding in Christ bears much fruit (Jn 15:5a)

Jesus commands multitude to recline in grass Jehovah rohi, the LORD My Shepherd, ready to feed His flock
(Eze 34:11-16)

Disciples organize the multitudes into groups Assemblies to which the disciples will minister the Word of
God (Acts 14:21-23)

Jesus multiplies food, gives to disciples for multitudes Word of God multiplied through teaching graces given by the
Holy Spirit (Eph 4:11-12); through growth in numbers of
members of the Body of Christ (Eph 4:16)

Disciples give food to groups, who share it Word of God shared within assemblies (Eph 4:15)

All eat and are completely satisfied Word satisfies the hearts of believers (Isa 55:1-3)

Leftovers fill twelve baskets As the twelve disciples give out, they discover they never lack
supply (Phil 4:19)
